.......for my son for Christmas!
He's 13 and he's been learning on my Strat for a while. He got obsessed with the idea of a V when he saw School Of Rock. Of course, I had the obligatory parental discussion about sensible guitar shapes with him, and took him out to try a few different guitars. It was a struggle, but eventually I saw sense and went for the V.
And made him listen to some classic UFO.
Internet order from gak.co.uk . Arrived today. Took it out the box, tuned it up, plugged it in and ....
I'm rockin'!! The intonation and action are fine and it sounds great. If it were mine I'd probably mod the crap out of it, but it really is a fine guitar to be starting out with. At a pinch I could take it out and gig with it tonight!
Now I just have to resist that temptation and find somewhere to hide it until Christmas.
I WANT ONE!
Dude, flying Vs own and contrary to popular belief they're quite easy to play sitting down. Anyway, your son's getting a sick Christmas present, lol.
All your kid's friends are gonna want you to adopt them when he shows up at band practice with that guitar. Simon, you are a most excellent dad.
Wow, that's awesome 10 parental points for that one! I wish my parents played guitar and could relate like that, awesome!

That's an awesome Christmas present. Your son will be extatic, and his friends will be envious. I'm glad you came to your senses. Now put it up before you wear it out...LOL.
You know what the coolest part is, even if he doesn't pick it up, you can still use it. What color? Korina?
Simon for those about to Rock we salute you!
Cool gift Dad!!!
cool gift for your son. Wish I had one, I have been gassing for the 67' re-issue,

Not Korina, it's one of the basic ones in red. I was expecting the one volume / one tone all in a line look, but it has two volumes and one tone in a triangle like the '60s version.
Now where did I put those 28quot; waist spandex trousers?
Cool gift. I'm sure your son will absolutely dig it!
I wish my pops got my guitar when I was a kid... I'd have so much experience by now... (only been playing 5 years) Instead I got something I could really use... a pair of shoes with velcro laces...

Man oh man! You certainly are most awesome. I've owned my V for about a year and one month now, and she's still amazing to sit down and jam on. I've got the Korina version, nice guitar for the price I got it for.
Your son will look up and see a truly amazing dad
Good job
Here it is....
Excuse the state of the carpet. The dog keeps bringing the garden indoors.
Yes, it is set neck. Made In China.
What a looker!
Those MIC ones are nice. You're a hell of a good dad.
Oh that's lucious! I'm not a huge fan of the massive truss-rod cover but that's no biggie.
love that red!
how much does it weight? if it's not too much trouble for ya,
Awesomeness!
I love it when Dads know how to keep their sons happy!

I had a little mini quot;Vquot; that I bought years ago to take to work amp; practice on midnight shift. I gave it to my daughter last year amp; it's funny as hell watching her rock out on it!!!!!!
