The 15 watt is just killing me. I've got a head enclosure on order, but it's taking s long time. I've also got the 1x12 combo coming to the casa tomorrow. I should have it stained this weekend. The engraver is taking waaaaay too freaking long to get my face and back plates ready. I'm about to change vendors on that one.

But, it's looking like I'll have a 4xEL84 30 watt version going soon. I've got the Matchless 30 watt trannies on order. In the next week or two, I'll definitely have pics posted.

The tone is just killing me. What a little Rock Beast!

Sorry, but several hours alone playing it, I just want to play every classic rock song I've ever learned. It'll definitely do other styles, but the tube saturated overdrive of a smokin' set of EL84's is just too killer for me.... makes me bust into hard rock. Can't help myself.
Geez Scott, everybody knows that EL-84's rock!

hmmm...

good name for an amp:

Man, I might place an order with you. I'm looking at making a 30 watt el84 my main amp.

make the 30 watter with as much headroom as possible please

Well, yep, that's the idea. I'd like to give the Franklin a bit of a headroom boost. Adding two more power tubes and new trannies are not that big a deal. (I don't think, looks pretty straightforward the way I've drawn it out). Gotta test it in the next week or two when the trannies get here. I'll let y'all know.

Oh boy, this is gonna be good. I can hear it right now. you must have that baby CRANKED

I'm also running my special Duncan A5 Antiquities through it, on the #2 Input. Massive gain even at the Lo Gain input.

The Tele and Strat I have run through it give it a bit more clean headroom, but the amp loves to crank. The tone controls are pretty cool. The more I play with it, the more I realize that they do not really add distortion to the amp. If I want some pronounced mids, I put the tone controls down in the 9:00 range. If I want to scoop the mids, I turn the tone controls up to the 1:00 or 2:00 range, to taste, depending on the guitar.

I've played a few 18 watt Marshalls and the Franklin kills them. East coast taste tests to commence soon.

When ya' gonna work on a Ceilidh???

If that day comes, I guess I'm gonna have to get 3 amps....1 for each daughter!

See how THAT goes over with the wife!!!!!!!!!!!

ohhhh.....I can feel the G.A.S. creeping up on me now.....

It sounds sweet. Get a couple for Evan to bring over to UGD UK!!! I would love to have something that bit special, especially in the classic rock genre. I could play all day. Things are really coming together for you.

Now, THERE'S an interesting idea, Scott.

It's not necessarily a bad idea, but my trannies are not set up for 220/240. and, there's a certain large cost associated with sending an amp across teh pond.
