Im looking for a fender 57'/62' reissue trem but is there a difference between the 57 and 62 or are they the same. And where can i get one cause all ive seen is the fender trem that just says vintage, is it the same one or would it say 57 or 62 reissue?
I suggest not buying a Fender bridge, but instead a bridge from here: , They make the best vintage bridge replacement on the planet IMO....and get the trem block while you are at it. They make a bridge to replace the one you are looking at. It's worth every penny.
1 One the Callaham stuff. But if your looking for Genuine Fender this is
the place to go.www.angela.com
yeah, go with the callaham. the quality is better and not much difference in price, well to me anyway.
How does the callaham trem block sound compaired to the fender one?
yeah, the Callaham hardware is top notch
as far as the vintage Fender trem, I know Lew stocks those.

Check this out. It's a good read....and it's not bragging if you can back it up.
Callaham Block Details
Well were the original fender trem block from the 50s made from the UNS 1018 metal that callaham uses or were they made out of the stuff that the fender vintage reissues have cause i believe you guys that teh callaham is probably better quality than the fenders but i just want something that sounds like a 50s fender trem.
This is from the page where it tells about all the strat parts...not sure why he didn't put this info on the block details page. Sounds like the original blocks were rolled steel, then over the years they got cheaper.
quot;Callaham Vibrato / Tremolo Replacement Blocks including 3 stainless steel top plate screws. When the vibrato bridge was first designed in 1954, it had a machined steel inertia block for the simple reason it gave the instrument the required sustain and harmonic content. Over the years, manufacturers have continuously made this part more inferior in order to cut costs. We manufacture an exact replacement block for stripped original bridges and it can be retrofitted onto any reissue instrument giving a dramatic increase in both sustain and harmonic content.quot;
