Once ive found a drummer i hope to be gigging soon with my band. Im thinking of using my POD into a clean amp (convienience and good if amps are provided, just need the POD). My amp at home is a 50watt marshall MG series 1x12 combo. Im planning on selling that and getting a half decent cheap 2x12 combo to run the POD through. Im mainly after a good clean tone but good overdriven tones would be a bonus. Once i have the money for my tone beast tube amp of sort this amp would probs become a backup. Im thinking of solid state so would be lighter and more reliable etc. I've thought about a 2nd hand marshall MG series 2x12 combo. Any other suggestions?

Also, has anybody have any experiences of PODs live?

I think your best bet would be to get a 2x12 extension cabinet and a power amp to use with the POD.

You are correct, get the new 2x12 atomic. I have the 1x12 and it totally makes the xt a new beast. I wouldn't use a pod into anything that's not tube anymore. Mine is really loud for 30 watts, the 2x12 must be very loud.

Brisk, what does the tube microphone preamp do? I thought the POD would be the poweramp?

Also generally, is a poweramp/cab generally cheaper than 2x12combo, both options 2nd hand?

The Atomic 2x12 is not quite out yet, but I believe it's coming soon. I heard it at NAMM and it was smokin!

The POD is actually just a preamp. You'll still need a power amp to run it. The tube preamp is just to warm up the signal.
