I need to get some new pedals! I'm tossing up between the Jim Dunlop collection, The Cry Baby from hell, Jimi hendrix fuzz/waa, a 535 q or a Classic wah wah cry baby. Maybe even a phase 90. Do you guys have any other recomendation's for pedals? All i have is a Zoom 505II

the cry baby from hell is awesome, prolbably the best and most versatile wah ive ever owned. i also have a modded phase 90, its one sweet ass phase. you can't go wrong with either imo

Yeah im thining of getting the EVH PhaSE 90, or is it just a waste?

Anyone else have any idea's or reccomendations?

the crybaby from hell is extremely versatile. the 535q is a cool wah too. i halso have a regular one that i think is just called 'original' gc95 or something. that gets a good wah sound but doesnt have all the neat features that all the other ones have. the boss ps-3 phase shifter gets some pretty insane sounds, but im a plug in and play guy so i never use it. i dont know much about the evh phase 90 but i want one!

you should also check out the electro-harmonix phase shifter small stone.

do u have a budget of any kind?

i played through one and i personally like my regular phase better after it had a few mods done to it. very smooth and sounds awesome.

Cry-baby from hell... the versitility is madness... though it is one of the only ones ive ever used... its a step up from the zoom built in pedal.. if that model even has one

I have a 535q and its extremely versatile...you can adjust the amounts of lots of things to do with the wah tone and get an awesome wah tone plus it has a boost button which is great to bring your wah stuff out more when you kick it in.

Don't have experience with the others, but i know before i got this i swore i would only get a fulltone deluxe wah or a tesse or something nuts like that, but after trying one i realised that the 535q can get those awesome wah sounds i always wanted.

If no budget, you might want to do it right... i.e. Teese wah (I have a standard crybaby, but I'm jonesing for a Teese), Red Witch Moon Phaser, Good Vibe Clone, etc...

Do you know what effects you want other than wah? I think I'm going to go for phase and Uni-Vibe next, but my chorus and flange could use an upgrade. I thought that Ibanez all-in-one was great when I bought it... Now I can't get an good subtle sounds out of it.

well, i dont have any effects at all, other then standard amp 'crunch' and my zoom 505II. So a Flanger, Phase, Boost, Chorus, Wah, Delay etc etc. Would i be better off getting a Bos Pedal board and a Cry baby from hell, some set up like that?

the 535q is GREAT for the price. i own it and love it. but if you have no price limit, teese is good. or you can check out the fulltone clyde deluxe. i dont think the 535q is true bypass, ill prolly have it modded to true bypass eventually.

in my opinion, flangers are really useless. and i can get phasing sounds just by moving my foot up and down on the cry baby from hell. id get either a crybaby from hell or a 535q for a wah. for chorus, the boss super chorus is a good one. i would just get a boss dd-3 for delay. im not big into delaying though so i dont know too much about that stuff. check out some guyatone pedals.

What style do you play? What tones do you want to emulate/create? What settings do you like on the 505? My honest opinion on the Boss pedals is that they are kind of like Anheuser/Busch beer. Not the best, but it will do. (Other than a few gems in the collection) A Boss CHorus would be perfect for me, but the phaser, I really want an awesome one that is highly adjustable. Is there one effect you really love? Or do you just want a mish mash of different tones at your feet?

Well i'm not really happy with my Zoom 505II so i will be relplacing that with individual pedals. I play stuff like , Pearl Jam, the cure, david bowie, jimi hendrix, rolling stones, smashing pumpkins, Velvet Revolver, Van Halen, GUns and roses, stevie ray vaugn, led zep
those guys are pretty much my major influences, and i play alot of there covers all the time.
My owm music is a mix and blend of styles ( classic rock, hard rock and acustic )

Phaser: either an E

UniVibe, for sure. Listen to PJ-Alive solo (right after the first lick), Jimi-Machine Gun, the quot;wobblyquot; tones SRV got... Also, an MXR EVH Phase 90 should get you the tapping part of Eruption and a Flanger should get you the intro to Ain't Talkin' Bout Love. Not to mention the classic fuzz of Jimi and Jimmy, as well as the Tube Screamer of Stevie.

Also, go to musican's friend, they have pretty good sound clips of all the pedals on the site.

I shall check them all out. I'm 100% sure i want a Cry Baby from hell. Everything i read on it seems to say the same thing, its extremly versatile. The Phase 90 im not so sure of, i like the eddy van halen model, but iwant something the same, but doesnt have the van halen ' cost '. Might get one of those Uni Vibe's aswell.

I've been thinking of buying the Cry Baby from hell, is the output amazing with the pedal? Can you go into detail about it?
