Ah not a list of guitars, but of needs (what the guitar HAS to have) and wants (what it'd be cool if it had)
need:
At least set neck
One humbucker in bridge, no middle pickup
24 frets
Alder or Mahogany (well not basswood)Wouldn't mind, but not necessary:
not dot inlays
TOM/string through
Ebony fretboard
Different body type
A single coil in there
2 volume controls
Under 400 pounds
BindingRight now I have a Charvel model 4, whose building quality is VERY good. So yeah, I'll be a bit snobbish and be skeptical if you suggest too many Koreans models
Also, I live in the UK, so 800 euros, 600 pounds, make that 700 dollars for you Americans (yeah it's unfair ). I am willing to go second hand.
What I am eyeing would a Charvel model 5 for now... Maybe a 2, or even a 1. Anyhoo, any suggestions are welcome I don't look for sound by the way, but for looks and building quality. Sound can always be changed. Thanks for your time!
First thing that comes to mind is Marty Friedman Sig Jackson KE1 or even the standard KE2. Alder body, ebony neck, KE2 has 2 vol controls, definiltey different body style but a bit out of your range unless you can find one used.
Next would be the new BC Rich Classic Series. Two humbuckers. Two vol controls. Strange body shapes, they're offered in Bich, Mockingbird and Seagull. Sorta a Mahogany its called uh... something else. Ebony fret boards and probably closer to your range. This is the info page from : localhost/retail around $600 american.
ESP VP400, you could get the EMG89 swapped for the 81 and it'd give you single-coil-age...or is that the 95? I don't remember.
Or you could get an F400FM, it's sick too and 25.5quot; scale instead of 24.75quot;.
I'd look hard at some Carvin models, they can get you pretty much the specs you need.
yeah.. look at the Esp Ltd 400 series.. you got some options there.
Edwards , for mine the whole thing cost £600 (coincidence?, I think not )
VERY good build, although traditional type looks, gets my vote anyway...
*EDIT* Just noticed you wanted 24 frets

The 400 range has excellent specs for the price. It's all on the ESP website, so check that out.
Schecter.
The ESPs our out of my range in the UK unfortunately, though I shall check them out on ebay. My main is fear is that their quality will be inferior to my Charvel.
Also, I don't like Carvins... They have no mojo for me And they don't sell in Europe without going through customs, VAT... very hard to export.
I was definitely thinking Jackson/Charvel for your needs and many of your wants.

Ugly :P I played a Schecter 006 Blackjack too and I didn't like it that much... The specs do look good it's true though, I shall look into their line further. Thanks for the tips!
I second the BC Rich NJ Classic series. Retail for ~600-650 US. I got one about a month ago and haven't put it down since. It's easily seen on their website before you ask, the wings are quot;Natoquot;, which, as I understand it, is a Japanese mahogany with tonal properties between alder and mahogany.

Just a suggestion....schecters are amazing for the price and that guitar I posted goes for about $549.00!!! I picked the 006 Elite because it has a quilted top and it has almost all of your requirements!
Cloud inlays...
I must admit I really dig the Bich. I don't know how the overall quality would be and I never saw any here in the UK eiyher, it'd be hard to try, but I shall add them to my list, thanks!
oh btw, the Duncan Designed HB-102s arent half bad....i played the covered humbuckers but Im guessing that they will still sound good!
Yeah those Duncan Designed seem ok I must admit.
I shall to the list the Jackson DK2 and the DKMGT. What I'm unsure about though would be whether the Ibanez RG15** series will be of better quality than those Jacksons for instance.
dude, i've been gassing for a schecter 006 elite in the see through black for ever now. I think you should get one so I don't have to. lol

hell yeah man...they're awesome looking
Jackson is making a fixed bridge string through the body DInky with EMG Hzs. $450 US. I played one at GC and it had a great neck and sounded good to me. I dont what the wood is etc becuase this model of guitar is not listed on Jackson's site. Do they have Guitar Center in UK? I'm sure the neck is bolt on though.
