I have Squier Standard Stratocaster (i really don't know wich body wood for sure but on the site of squier it says it is agathis), and i must be honest... My friend (who is old for about 37-38 years and knows alot of the sound and the guitars) has Fender Stratocaster with same pup's (dimarzio hs-3 and yjm) as me, this two guitars have very similar sound (i know that squier is low end guitar but it really has good sound and it's good piece, hardware is ok and all of that). I wonder because i dont have enough money to by fender and i will not have money for that for a long time should I change the neck? Our friend is luthier and an excellent one and i always wanted scalloped neck, should i do that, i mean if i do that did I throw money or it will be spend in a good way? Also witch nut should i put? I am thinking between brass and graphtech trem nut, i want good tremolo work and to stay in tune. And if luthier would have some good piece of wood witch fretboard is most easy to maintain and is most durable?

I'am sorry for bad english, thanks in advance

If you are having trouble with the tremelo taking the guitar out of tune then it wouldn't hurt to get a graphite nut. I don't really know much about scalloping though as I have never played a guitar with a scalloped board. If you are satisfied with the neck I would keep it. It sounds like you are a fellow Yngwie fan, speaking of scalloping, hs-3 and yjm pickups, and a brass nut. Good luck with your guitar.

Yes i am Yngwie (and blackmore) fan Well on squier neck nut is made with some plastic material, its bad and i think not really cut well, so i don't have experience with brass nut, what difference in tone would be with brass or graphtech trem nut and how much difference in tuning stability. Also i do know how to properly setup guitar and strech strings so this is totaly on hardware.

Change the tuners when you get the new neck. Squier tuners are not very good.

Thanks for advice lesstrat but this tuners (on this particular guitar) are really fine i don't have money to swap tuner also So guys, tell me the difference in tone between brass and graphtech trem nut and difference in tuning stability, and also should i use only one string tree or two?

For tuning stability, use one string tree. The second is unnecessary.

I strongly suggest you try a scalloped board before doing it to your guitar. You may like it, but you also may not, and it's permanent, so there's no going back.

One option is a partial scallop of the upper frets only, like the Fender Japan Blackmore strats had. Also, Jumbo frets do basically the same thing as scalloping.

I'd go for a graphite nut. I don't like the sound of brass nuts for open strings.

Thanks for the tip, i have tryed scalloped neck and i love it. I think that i would put a brass nut because it will last longer and i like that metallic sound. Also i think that would work good with tremolo (it will not go out of tune, at least i think). If i am wrong correct me please. In a couple of days i will talk to my luthier to see what we can do so i need to decide in the next couple of days what i want

Also i will be using hybrid set of strings 9-46 and if i put 5 springs in tremolo cavity should it be more stable and rarely go out of tune in comparisation with for ex. 3 springs? Also what is more stable in form of tuning, floating or flush with body set up tremolo bridge?
