the AX10G from : localhost/got one?
nevermind this one.. answered .. G is for guitar LOL
how good are they really?
how do they handle sound across the gain spectrum, how are the models, effects, etc etc etc?
are they worth the money?
answer these please.
went to the store today. cant get a valvetronix 60W head, cos there is a 3 month wait.
if i sell some of my stuff i can afford one of those korg thingies, or wait for an insane deal on a POD. so if anyone can shed some light on them, it;d be much apretiated
I have one, and find it's okay. Not THE finest simulators etc. But I use mine at the office, into a small small amp or headphones (while killing time waiting for the computer/people, or when im otherwise not too busy)
For this it really is fun. But it does take some tweaking of the models, settings etc, to get a nice sound. You get 40 user settings. The one sad thing about this unit, is that they took away the AMP separate CAB thing (which was so cool in the really small one) Anyway, its not a thing i'd gig with. And the distortions can get a bit crisp in a single coil axe. The wah is kinda cool. And there's some mad stuff.
If it's going cheap, i'd say yay. It's all plasic and the dials are immpossible to read.
Great for holiday. Batteries or power. Very logical and simple to use! Tap function where it counts. Fairly customisable fx parameters. Never played a pod.
I've heard awesome things about the Vox ToneLab. Real valve in there. and it looks the deal.
anybody else?
I bought the Ampworks through MF for about $50 and it sounds great for quick recordings. Heck, I carry it as a backup to my GT-8 in case I have to use it into my power amp. The amp models sound really cool, though the effects are somewhat limited.
If the Toneworks uses the same modeling patches, I would look into it.
i'm considering it, since it's just 150.
i can use the crate's clean channel cos it's pretty damn sterile and unuseable, i'll unplug the crate's speakers and use the cab i'll have soon, so the speakers will be two celestion V30's
i think it would be ok. what do you guys think?
i need a bit more input from experienced folks.. read the harmony central reviews and had a good laugh
bumpage
The AMPworks is that little one that, actually is better, cos you can choose amp, then you choose cab. The bigger Toneworks, they have paired the amp and cab for you! Boo. But still it's nice if it's cheap. But you must tweak...
i had the guitar port before i blew it up and i am used to extencive tweaking for that tone and it was fun
Well then, it's worth trying. I see you're not in Kamelot! Message-for-you-sir! Let's not argue about who killed who...
i am checking out the tonelab too .. i didnt see it at the store yesterday, but the toneworks caught my eye when i stepped in..
was browsing ebay and there you can find em ranging from 150 to 350€
anybody know how much they go for new?
the PXR4 has a 8 digital track recorder built in if thats interesting to you
isnt that just a recording station?
would be nice to have it, but right now i just want a decent amp that will handle a wide wariety of stuff, so this is out of the question
gotta lurk around the european ebays for a good deal on a vox head
