These are for my son's Epi Les Paul, he just busted a peg and they were pretty cheap tuners anyway. What should he get? Thanks.
Are you looking for a derect replacement, or does that not matter. I put some sperzels in my strat and there awsome.
I was thinking just direct replacement with something of higher quality, mainly best bang for the buck type of thing but...? Any suggestions are welcome.
i bought some Klusons and put them on the epi LP i used to own. You can find them on ebay for pretty cheap
i forgot to add.... as for being direct replacement, i had to really press the kluson bushings in... some sand paper or a drill bit may make it easier, but they shouldnt be a problem. My epi was an LP standard by the way
I don't know what they have for LP's, but the PING tuners on LesStrat are great, and I think I paid $25 for the set.
Grover tuners are nice. Or direct Gibson replacements for a LP Custom or something. You can't really go wrong on Grover tuners. Schallers are nice as well. If you're looking to keep the look I'd go for the Gibson direct replacements. I think Grover makes them anyway.
Grovers are good tuners, and should be a direct drop in. In the event they are a bit tight, use sandpaper and patience to enlarge the hole. DO NOT use a drill bit, as chipping or cracking the headstock is very easy to do (drill bits can be used if they are sharp and you are working from a drill press and using extreme caution).
