So, I'm in the process of selling a couple of guitars to buy a Les Paul. I'm really leaning towards the Heritages.... The only problem is: according to the Heritage website, there's only one dealer for these in Canada and he is a hell of a long drive (and I mean long...) from my place.

What should I do? They are pretty much impossible to find here on the used market...

Ebay? Not sure about that, couldn't get to play it first and wouldn't want to play a guessing game since seller's honesty and description can be hazardous.

Internet dealers? Do you guys know any good/reliable/honest dealers that would be willing to ship here?

Directly from Heritage? Would it be smarter to just order directly from them as you would do for a custom order (if that is possible for a quot;regularquot; guitar)...

thanks for your input guys....

I guess send Kaknight a PM, i think he ordered his from a dealer.

As far as I know, Wolfe Guitars is the premier Heritage dealer in the US....I'm sure he would ship to Canada. Several forum bro's live in the area...perhaps one of them could go check out a partictular axe you wanted.

I know CHCJunior had a bad experience with Jay, but other than that I have heard nothing but praise about his service and the quality of the instruments. I would not hesitate to do business with him....only Junior's experience gives me slight concern.

Heritage is building fine guitars, and even though I own 2 Gibson LP's, I still plan to have a Heritage built to my specs later this year.

I second the endorsement on Wolfe Guitars they are a class act, they'll hook you up with any kinda mods you want done. Like bridge upgrades or pickup upgrades, cosmetic tweaks and what not. He'll ship to Canada.

Wolfe is local, Surgeon.....lemme know if you want me to check something out. He just opened a new full service shop amp; I've been looking for an excuse to go up there!

Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate the input.

Puck- Man, you'll become my official quot;middle-manquot; in no time! Thanks for the offer...

As I said, I'm quot;in the processquot; so it's not going to be this week but I want to do it pretty soon... I just realized that I should do this kind of thing while I can (good salary, no house to pay for yet, no kids, etc...) 'cause I know once I get in these things it'll be tougher to quot;justifyquot; this to myself...

BTW puck: What's that in your signature? The truth is in Tequila??

No problem Brother!

It wasn't the LTD I hooked you up with last time, was it? It was an Agile, right? Don't have that anymore???YUP....In tequila is truth alright!!!

I bought mine from Wolfe Guitars and didn't have any problem: Jay Wolfe gave me good advice, he has got specific features on his guitars (bridge, tuners, etc.), good set-up, packing and shipping.

I am more than satisfied with that purchase, so I second this option.

There's always gonna be an exception to every rule, and unfortunately for me, I was it this time! I went with Jay due to his stellar reputation; long story short, there were substantial issues with the binding and tons of back peddling and contradiction by Jay. Beyond the binding issue(s), the H150 was a pretty stellar guitar. Another note is Jay wasn't real open to any changes to the guitar, pup or bridge wise. Again, apparently I'm the exception...who knows, maybe he was distracted with the opening of his new store. All I know is I spent close to $1650 for a guitar that should have never made it to my door step.

I'm considering custom ordering an H150 right now. I'll let you know what the dealer research yields for me.

Nah, it was the Agile... Really nice guitar tho, I just love it but it's going to have to go for the heritage. I have too many guitars and buying my Taylor made me realize that a high quality instrument can't be beat, as nice as the cheaper copies can be (provided you find a high quality instrument you truly enjoy...) I don't wanna go with newer gibsons since finding a really nice one here (I was really looking for a classic) will cost me an arm and a leg (and even tho I consider that gibson still builds quality instruments, I'd feel like playing them first before buying with all the talk about QC I've read here) I'd do the same with Heritage but in Canada that's more of a problem... that's why I'm looking for a reliable and honest dealer somewhere....

CHC- thanks for your valuable input, really appreciate it... lemme know how it turns out for you with the custom guitar...

Oh by the way:

Can someone provide me with the contact info for Wolfe please?

Gracias

second btw: Hey, I'm a toneologist now... about time*

Seems like I edited at the same time you posted...

Thanks for the help Terry!

Yep Jay Wolfe.

Also check out his existing stock right now.

from : localhost/you won't regret it!

BTW. Take time to really get your specs down, if you're doing a custom order - it's very rewarding.

Who is the Canadian Heritage dealer? Steve's music?

Nope, not a single dealer in Qc... the sole Cdn dealer is somewhere in Ont. Steve and Gagné et Frères were listed back in the days as dealers for Heritage but are no longer.... This bites since Mtl isn't that big of a ride and Gagné is in Qc city... I'll have to double check for the city in Ont tho, I don't remember... not even Toronto...

I think the Canadian dealer is Murch Music (Long and McQuade) in Cambridge, ON. I've been in there and they have a few Heritages. Nothing that really caught my eye though.

Yep, that's the one... So you say there weren't that many Heritages? I was suspecting chances were good I'd be driving like 16 hours to just find 4 heritages on the wall....

LOL! It's because there are soo many people doing it that my paycheck gets critically slashed by taxes every two weeks... Believe me brother, it ain't free in the long run...you just pay for it all your life instead.... It's been there when I needed it tho... the keyword here is NEED....

Altho if you look at it this way, I could just stop doing sports, training, pick-up smoking and drink regularly... man... i've been missing on soooo much...
