Ok, the Blues JR is at 8ohms, and has an extra speaker jack. My cab has settings for 4 and 16ohms mono, and 8 ohms stereo. If I switch the cab ot 8 ohms stereo and run it will I be ok, or what?

Tell me what to do bro's.

Unplug the Blues JR speaker, take a cable running from the 8ohm speaker jack to the 8ohm 4x12 jack....should be cool.

OR run a cable from the speaker out to the 4ohm MONO (I think).......

So use the 8ohm stereo switch? It won't make any difference being stereo vs mono? I just don't want to blow the tranny....(the one on the amp, not the guy who looks like a chick)

I don't know what you're blowing.........
But if it's an 8ohm load to the one speaker in the combo, it's still an 8ohm load to the stereo side of the cab.....or a 4/16 ohm load mono...I said stereo thinking it would sound nicer.

I'm not sure what the load would be if you just use the speaker out slot....I would just unplug the combo speaker amp; go straight to the 4x12.

OK.....unplugging the speaker cable to the combo, and going into 8 ohm stereo.

And NO....if it fries, you don't get the Splawn!!!!

AAAAARRRGGGGGHHHHHHH................
Damn this thing is LOUD. The speakers are a little harsh still, which leads me to believe they still need to be broken in a bit. Strange for a JCM 900 used cab...should be broken in by now.

Also, it may just be the 15 watts of the Blues JR trying to push 300 wats of speaker cab. EL 84's aren't as tight and focused as 34's. I do have to say, a Blues Jr sounds better than I thought it would all dimed out. Nice natrual OD....but I think this has cured my gas for an 18w Marshall or clone. I'm like an amp that has higher gain capacity...

Oh well, at least I know the cab works....now to get that damn Marshall out of the shop.

It has G-12 75s in it doesn't it.

Probably.....4 of them sound too harsh to me. Or they did when I had one.

I like the V30/G12H30 combo....

Yeah...they're the 75's. I actually really like them in my 800 combo, so I'm anxious to try this cab out with that.

If it's still a little too harsh, I'll throw a couple of either V30's, or maybe the G12H's in an X pattern with the 75's. Maybe the G12H's to lower the wattage of the cab, and really warm up the thing.
