HI guys Im buying a guitar for hard rock and metal, and i have choosen a model from Tagima guitars (brazilian brand). It has 2 seymour duncans and a gotoh floyd rose bridge (one of the best ive heard). The thing is.. i really do not use the tremolo much... And what i like about my fender is that it is no problem to tune and intonate.. like i can change strings in a gig if one breaks. Someone told me you can block tremolos.. I would still like for it to dive.. But no need to get notes sharp. If I just block the tremolo for dives only will the other strings stay in tune even after a string brreaks?? If you want to check the guitar...

if you want it only for dives, get a snug block, but elevate the tightening screws for the tremolo block slightly so there's room to dive, but the block will prevent any reverse movement. And, a broken string will not throw off tuning because that reduces tension, making the tremolo recline more onto the block. If the strings loosen up in any way, the tremolo will be pushing harder against the block-no problem.
27 frets???
Thanks Quencho..... Ill try that with my luthier!!!
yes pac112 ! a 27 fret guitar... and it plays really well!!! they escallop the last fretsss (21 to the end I guess like Stv Vai does on his 24 fret guitars)
