Hi, as per the title, I am looking for a 12-string guitar.

I have done a bit of searching online. So far, I see that I only have a few choices:

A) fender 12-string
B) Rickenbacher
C) Di Pinto
D) Epiphone or Gibson SG doubleneck

I am looking for a 12-string that will give a warm, nice clean tone, kind of like a les paul with '57 neck pickups.

Any suggestions? My budget is basically under $1000

These are kind of cool, though Schecter doesn't seem to be making them anymore.

I have a Burns of London Double-Six RI and it is one beautiful instrument!

It's my understanding that Burns no longer has an American distributor so they may be harder to get now.

The OEM TriSonic pickups were professionally removed and replaced with a chrome covered Pearly Gates in the neck position and a chrome covered DiMarzio Virtual PAF in the bridge position. The electronics were simplified as well. Naturally, this involved a new, custom made pickguard. The action on this guitar is super low and the bridge allows for each of the 12 strings to be intonated separately. Sound wise, playability and budget wise, this guitar would positively fulfill all your requirements!

I'll throw in a vote for the Epi double neck becuz I've already got one. I haven't played that many electric 12 strings to be honest with you. If you don't mind the wieght, the G1275 is actually a very good player. The 12 string side is very clear and articulate. The six string side is very quot;hotquot; sounding and surprisingly easy to play. The guitar is really cool looking and a great conversation piece. Everyone recognizes it as Jimmy Page's guitar as seen on TSRTS. Beyond that, I think its a great guitar. Give it a try and see if its for you...

Personally, if they made a single-neck version of that guitar with JUST the 12-string, I would go and buy that right now, hands down, but I think a double-neck would feel a bit awkward.

I like Rick 12s but that's just me. Fender makes a decent one, too. I do like the Gibby ES-1275, but they're prohibitivelyl expensive.

i tried a C-series schecter 12 string a while back and it played really well. cant seem to find it online though

also remember they only have 20 frets not 22
try to shred on them and it really becomes a pain in the ass

Believe or not, THIS is a pretty damn cool 12-string.

U could always get the Double neck sg (unless u hate double necks) if u want bucker tones. But i love rics (especially the george harisson model 360V12 i think) for a chimey beutiful 12 string sound
