I don't have a reviews section to post this in, so I thought I would put it here. If this isn't the right spot, please move it for me.

A couple of weeks ago, JeffH and I went up to TheOdie's palace to have some guitar work done and also hang out and play guitar etc. Taking the one unfortunate event of that weekend aside, we all had a great time and much music and merryment was shared by all.

The one bit of guitar work I had to have done was a refretting of a Hamer Daytona I got off ebay for cheap. It had massive fret wear and needed new frets like Micheal Jackson needs a toddler. I ordered the frets I wanted (TheOdie offered to supply them for me, but he didn't have jumbos and I'm a jumbo kinda guy). I also ordered other misc parts to modify the strat like a push push switch to activate the bridge pickup from any position. We were going to do a really cool mod to the inlay, but changed our minds once we got a peek at the size of the original inlay. It was too big to change. Anyway, TheOdie got to removing the old frets from the fragile Rosewood fretboard and removed each fret causing only one very minor splintered spot on the whole board that was quickly and cleanly repaired. The rest of the frets removed cleanly, which I must say is quite a feat. Once the fretboard was clean of old frets, he carefully leveled and re-radiused the fretboard to a 12quot; radius for me. I think it was 14quot; radius before. After everything was smooth as a baby's butt, he carefully pressed the fat new jumbo frets in and clamped them to cure. He worked like a slave dog from the time we walked into the door until we left practically. Time was precious and I'd laid a very time consuming project on his plate. He spent many hours getting everything just right.

She now plays like a dream. The action is low and is extremely low considering that there's no fret buzz. She plays easy and sounds beautiful. String bends went from mild to wild once i could get my grubby paws under the strings when I play given the big fat jumbo frets hold the strings up like big targets to hit. I'll post pics once I get my camera and the guitar in the same room. Oh yeah, his prices were very reasonable considering the slavish attention he paid to his work and the considerable quality he puts out.

Admins, I apologize if this isn't in the correct spot, but I don't know where else to put it. Good work should be recognised.

Congratulations.

and kudos to TheOdie for a job well done.

1. For a balding midget with 8 fingers, a goeyter, and stump for a leg, Odie does some damn fine work. How he got a woman I'll never know.....but he sure can work on guitars.

Dude...be careful. You're outside the off topic area, you might melt away into nothing.

Hmmmm...I live in Northern VA and my Kramer needs a refret.

What are you waiting for? You've got THE MAN living right next door and your Kramer is wasting away right before your eyes? Get on it man!

TheOdie - I should be thanking you. You don't need to thank me for anything.

Good job man!
