i've have no idea who kevin bond is but htis is his sig model jackson... says it comes with a quot;seymour Duncan Iommiquot; pickupHe's the guitarist for Superjoint Ritual. Don't ask me who they are! But the guitar is HOT.

Kevin, I believe played in Crowbar (rust memory) and Superjoint Ritual (IIRC)

I'd have gone with Silver Bevels and the Crop Circles for inlays but yeah it is a sweet guitar

I hade read before that him and the other Superjoint guitarist both played humbucker sized hotrails (custome shop).

I thought the Iommi pup hasen't been made for a while?

SJR = Current project of former Pantera Vocalist Phil Anselmo. And Yey, Kevin Bond used to be in Crowbar

I was seriously considering a Bond Rhoads when there was still the Idea of offering the green beveled one w/ hemp leaf inlays. Unfortunately, JCMI ixnayed the idea of Illegal Drug inlays, so both now come w/ pentagrams.....

The red beveled one is still cool, but I´m not sure it´s cool enough to buy it..if it had 24 frets I´d already have one on preorder......

that guitar is without a doubt very sweet.
Like something I would make as a custom guitar for myself.
Rock ON

It's a nice piece of work but no Floyd? no 24 frets? no tone control? It sucks

I could be wrong... But i dont think any RR has a floyd or more than 22 frets... and I know i'm not wrong in saying its often classed the the greatest metal guitar ever created.. So its actually pretty sweet

i did some looking around, and found the price of $1200! thats f*ckin awesome for a USA jackson

LOL

Rhoads have been available with a Floyd or a Kahler from the very Day they were introduced in 1983 (RR00001, the first Rhoads Custom, had a Kahler)...Randy played hardtails, and they´re also available with one, though, and always have been... in about 1990, Kahlers started to become rare, and the neck angle on the trem models was changed to accomodate a recessed floyd

24 frets is a Custom Shop option, though. OR buy a JS30 Rhoads (Indian Made, Low end) Originally Posted by ex-250i did some looking around, and found the price of $1200! thats f*ckin awesome for a USA jackson

1. These are made in Japan, not USA
2,. If you pay 1200 bucks for one, you have nobody but yourself to blame, I´m CONSTANTLY recommending sites where new Jacksons can be had for great prices (not just good ones). With a List of 1699, anything above 1k is too much, Minimum Advertised Price (Note: NOT minimum sales price) is 1189.-. NOBODY pays MAP

Give Scott @ ir Matt @ a ring, or send them an e-mail, they´ll get you a GREAT price, not some higher than MAP BS

what's the story with the duncan Iommi pickup? you never hear it mentioned around here...i guess it's custom shop order only...does anyone have one?

Well having the neck pickup in place of the 24th fret harmonic position creates what's called a sweet spot and in my opinion that's more important than having two extra frets when there is a world of learning on the 22. As for the floyd, it's fun to use but it's also got its drawbacks. Agree with you on the tone control though, what's the point in not having one? I wouldn't say it sucks though.

False. As soon as you fret a note, that harmonic 'sweet spot' changes places. The reason it sounds deeper, fuller, and richer on a 22fret guitar is because it's that much farther from the bridge. USA Jackson's not well priced? To me, 1500 is a pretty nice price for a brand new SL2H, and they can be had from dealers for that price all day long.

I got my RR-1 for 1050 . Ain't bad for a mint condition '99 model.

Those sucky qualities are what makes me want it so much. I prefer a guitar that has a versatile bridge humbucker and doesn't need a neck humbucker, and tone knobs just aren't for me. I've had guitars with 24 frets before, but 21 or 22 is plenty for me.
So, to you it sucks, to me, it rocks hard

all i ever look for are KV's or RR's, and theyre always around $1700 if i remember correctly. i gotta say you got a hell of a deal on yours, but i wouldnt be comfortable at all with spending that kinda money on ebay.
