What a good sound these have. I replaced the 498T/490R set in my Studio, with Gibson 57 Classic, and a 57 Classic , and thought I'd give a shot with the '59 model in both positions.
Great balance of volume between positions, though, string to string, I need to make a few adjustments...
But, so far I like 'em.
mt last les paul had a set of 59's, its a great sounding setup for sure
good choice. Now if only I could get my buddy to try '59's in his semi hollow instead of the '57classic and the bridge and unknown gibson neck pickup. I think he'd be blown away.
I've got a 59n and love it!!
It's a great set, and if you ever want to move up one notch in output on the bridge, throw a C-5 in there.....basically a 59 with a tighter deeper bass and expanded output, just like the SD description.
On one of my guitars, I actually want to decrease the power from the C-5, so I'll probably be getting a 59B for that guitar.....a Gamp;L Legacy Deluxe.

I had a C-5 in an epiphone a while back, and I thought it was kind of bright/edgy. Then again, it was in an epiphone.
Excellent choice. Although my preference is for Antiquity's or Seth's
