how do you adjust the truss rod in guitars? how do you know when the truss rod in your guitar is set up properly?
It's not really that hard or complex. If you do a Goolge search for quot;truss rod adjustementquot;, you will find a wealth of knowledge. I would read through about 4 or 5 articles, some articles have concepts others gloss over or miss. You will get the idea. Just remember to go slowly and make small adjustments.
Buy this book.... It will guide you through ALL the basic adjustments taht all guitar players should know!

from : localhost/recommendation Dave! That book is such a great resource. His other one quot; How to Make Your Guitar Sound and Play Greatquot; is good too, but the first one is more detailed I think.
The truss rod is adjusted correctly when the neck is almost straight with just a small amount of relief. The amount of relief you need depends on your playing style. Heavy pickers need more relief, while those who play with a light touch can get away with a slightly straighter neck. Light strings also require more relief than heavy strings.
