I replaced my American strat's bridge (like an idiot) a while back and now I want to re-replace it...I cant decide if I should go for a more modern 2 post design like a Wilkinson or if I should keep it simple with a 6 screw vintagey Fender bridge...I simply want good tuning stability and smooth tremolo action without looking crazy, but I am open to anything-as long as the color is chrome/silver(can't do gold or black)...Would a modernytwo postdesign best fit my needs? HELP! Which do you recommend, why, and if you have another bridge in mind, tell me which one. Thanks!

I recently replaced my Fender trem (non-vintage) with a another Fender, (wammy bar broke off inside the trem) I was going to repalce it with a Wilkinson but my guitar tech talked me into going with a Fender. Stays in tune, pretty good (with locking tuners).

From what I've heard Wilikinsons are really cool. My next guitar will have a Wilky.

I like the Wilkinson better.

However the origianl company does not make them anymore.

You can buy licensed copies though.

I like Wilkinsons too, but I don't mind the stock bridges on US strats, as long as you set them up well and lube the moving parts, and parts that the strings contact

FYI - There's a 6-hole V-Trem made my Wilkinson that's every bit as stable as it's 2-post kin. It's supposed to be a direct replacement for Fender hardware. I have one on a strat copy that stays in tune great unless you go full slack on the bar.

IMO the vintage 6 hole sounds better and if you get a high quality one (callaham or the Fender 57/62 reissue come to mind) and use good tuners (they don't even have to be locking...I personaly prefer vintage style Klusons), make sure that the nut is cut properly and make sure to do a spot on set up it will be pretty damn stable.

I've bought one of these, it's installed but not strung up yet. Features are pretty cool on it, the arm is a pop in type, its got staggered string holes so each string has the same saddle-to-ball-end length, full sized steel block etc, and a really cool feature that i like is that you can have the tip on the end of the bar like a vintage trem, or you can take it off so it looks like a modern floyd style bar
i will take the Wilk over any standard fender stuff. The saddles stay where you put them, they don't cut up your palm, the arm feels better, feels smoother, and just better designed. A 2-point pivot actually works better than a 6 point one.
