Hi everybody.

I was wondering what kind of experiences y'all have had with the MIK Fender Tele's, specifically those with a flame maple top and dual SD humbuckers. I believe it's a 59 andPG, right?

Anyway, I played a red one yesterday and it was pretty cool. I liked the cleans most of all. If its still there in a couple of weeks, I might give my brother my MIJ 50's style Tele and get this one for my self.

My roommate got a mik tele blackout, with the same pickups. The construction is pretty good on it. The tuners and bridge seem okay.

Actually, they're very cool guitars. BTW, I'd love the 50's Tele if your brother doesn't want it.

i've owned the gold 1 with the dimarzios and an esquire with the racing stripes.. they were both decent guitars but they had really thin necks, that was the main reason i got rid of them

hmmmm i'm thinking the same kinda thing. But with a Single/Hum tele ( custom 72) i think. Either thinking of going Lindy Fralin P92's and single 43's, or a Phat cat and Quater pounder

Yeah, that's what I was going to say. I don't know why they went and made the necks that skinny. They would have had a real winner, if they'd made the neck profile the same as an Am Std strat or tele. It feels like a Fender with an Ibeenhad wizard neck.

if they're made in Korea, i'd say there's a very good chance it's from the Samick factory. I have a Samick branded TeleClone that is very very well made and finished off. I saw the Fender MIK ash tele and it looked yummy.

i bought one of those black out teles a few months ago, couldn't resist.plus the price was right.(a double hum tele w/duncans).actually they only had the atlantic blue ones left, thought the black ones looked cooler. anyway i believe this one the body is basswood, and it is MIK . set neck . 59 PG p/ups . i brought it to MIRABELLA GUITARS (mentioned in a recent post) and he looked it over as he does with all my guitars and gave his seal of approval. yeah the neck is a little skinny , i agree, but a good guitar overall.good tone , easy player and it looks pretty hip.good luck.

Ah crapola... Oh well....

I played one at guitar center with the zakk wylde set, the bridge had those squared-off pieces which hurt my wrist but beside that it hauled booty. It played so smoothly, definetely worth getting new saddles.

If you like it a lot, the Schecter PT Blackjack is nice too but a bit more expensive...it has tune-o-matic and 24 frets though :/

Here's mine, stock it had a PG and '59n RWRP currently it has a '59/CC Hybrid(a5) bridge and Jazz/'59 Hybrid(a5) neck. It's a very nice guitar, though I will also say it does have a thin neck which took some getting used to. It also has an extreemly flat radius at 15 3/4quot;.....yes 15 3/4. Jumbo frets that very well dressed. Beautiful finish, very thin verneer for the flame top unfortunately. I think that it tends to be a bright sounding guitar, but that can be fixed with right set of pups. All in all, alot of guitar for the money. I kind of liked how bright it was. It seemed like it could work as a regular tele because of it, but the 'buckers beefed it up enough so that it can rock.

On the Schecter, is the body as thin as on the FMT Tele?

tried the fmt hh tele. liked the tone and build quality was good. only gripe is the neck profile. felt like ibby's wizard necks. too thin for my liking.

It's just as thick as the rest of the schecters, I think all schecters are the same thickness except for the flat-tops and the tempest.
