I know this has been asked before, but over time, people become more experienced and discover new gear and have new experiences.
What are the best lower end guitars for the money, you know, bang for buck.
List 'em!
Bee
Highway1 Strat ... is that low end enough for ya?
how low are we talking about here bee?
Actually, this Ibanez GSA-60 is a good value for the money, typically sells for around $200 and plays very well:

The Highway One Strats are really good for the $$. So is the Dean Hardtail Select for about $550. Some of the Hamer imports are really nice as well. If I was buying annother low end guitar, I'd buy one of those. Hell, I have a Highway 1 and a Hamer Import. I may buy Hardtail select instead of spending $1500 on annother USA series.
Those are my picks.
Agiles man! You get way more than you pay for. Good stuff.
80's MIJ lawsuit strats and les paul copies (tokai, greco, fernandes, burny, edwards)
I got my Gamp;L Tribute for $275. Easily better than a MIM strat and gives the MIAs a run for their (3 - 4 times as much) money
if you can find a used USA Hamer Daytona strat...i've heard nothing but good things about them...as soon as i replace my amp...i'm gonna be looking for one...they can usually be found on e-bay for $500 or less!!!!
Godins look and play great for the money for sure...probably one of the best bang for your buck line of guitars out there!
Fender HWY 1 and Lite Ash series!
a good mexican strat or tele can be found pretty easily too!
an ESP vintage plus strat is also an awesome guitar for the money used!!!
In the $100 range, its hard to beat the Johnson Strat in my sig. Look for the newer one, with an improved headstock, nicer logo, and the pups say quot;Designed by EMGquot; right on them.
The sunburst finish is outstanding.
A good, cheap guitar you can pick up straight from the rack at the store and sonically murder people with: Ibanez RG321MH
A cheap guitar you can find at pawn shops that are easily upgradable with parts scammed off of other people on ebay that you will later be able to cause audial mayhem with: any lower-end strat from 1984 on up
It all depends on what you want and how impatient you are.

I agree. I´d NEVER buy one, being Made in China is one of the main reasons...But for under 100 bucks, YOWZAH, the cheapo strats have come quite a ways, I was impressed

Where'd you get that? I just went to a place in AZ, and they wanted like $600 for one of those dealios.
If I really wanted to bare bones it (and I probably will someday), I'll get the Carvin strat kit and some Master Gel finish. Bang - a nice, clear finished, fast playing guitar for a pretty good price tag and fun to put together.
Dean has a good variety of affordable guitars.
And I haven't played the newer ones but I have an '85 MIJ Aria Pro II that is an awesome axe. It cost me $250 in '87 and it holds up very well next to my $1000 AM DLX Strat.
An OLP MM1 is hard to beat in value. I had one as my first guitar, and it played and sounded surprisingly good for such a cheap guitar.
i own 11 guitars that range from $250-thousands and i've gotta say a MIM strat or tele can be made great with some mods. and my schecter C-1 XXX is one of THE BEST guitars i own, i love this thing and will NEVER sell it. it was my main guitar for a long time over my LPs and US Fenders and such but now that i finished the twistedcaster in my avatar that became #1 but i know i can always count on the XXX for anything. the build quality and feel of it is just great and rivals some of my high dollar guitars. so the moral to the story is NEVER count out a low buck guitar, some can be great!

Schecter.
Although, there was a huge thread about this no more than 3-4 months ago .
