I was always wondering if anyone ever really use the tone control(s) on their guitars. I always have mine dialed in at full all the time and never touch it again except if I feel that my tone is sounding a bit bright, then I would back it off a little. I hear a few people complaining that certain pickups and such are too bright sounding, I was wondering if they even tried to roll off the tone control(s) on their axe to fix the problem.
i use mine occasionally if everything is sounding too bright. but not really other than that
i use it quite a bit expecially when i'm using the 59 and jb combo
Yeah, I use em all the time... In the neck position playing lead, I roll mine back to 0 for the warm buttery tone... In the bridge position, I have to roll it back to about 8-9... In the neck/mid position, I use it full on clean, but roll it down to 3 or so when using the drive channel on my amp... It only has one EQ, for the different gain stages, and clean is where I want it... Thus, I control the slight OD saturation via the tone pot on my Strat....
Now, that being said... the overall tone of my pups is where I want them... I have had other pups in the past that couldn't be tamed by the tone pots... As such, out they came....
Gotta jet, im in computer lab, and we got an assignment to do....

Never.

Same here.
Very rarely. Most of the time they're open full. Two of my guitars don't even have one.
all the time. on my strat i use them a lot...
on my ec-1000 i basically have the sound i want, which is not at all near the bright or bass side of the nob, kinda in the middle esk....
I use the tone controls quite a lot.
I use them alot.
what's a tone control?
hahahaha just kidding...yeah i use it on occasion...but some of my guitars don't have them.

all the time.
I never used to, but the Cool Rails in the bridge of my Strat really reacts well to it. I get a nice quot;Creamyquot; tone with the tone rolled back a bit.
yes, i use it frequently
not anymore... my current guitar only has two volume controls. i leave them full and adjust my effects and amp to get the sound i like. for me the simpler the better.
in my first years of playing I never used to touch the toneamp;volume controls, then as my experience increases with my playing technique I began to fine tune every setting...and now I use my guitars' toneamp;volume controls a lot, even a slight tone difference from 4 to 5 could make a huge difference in a tube amp setting...by decreasing the guitar volume to 5 and boosting clean channel I get decent strat quack tones with bridge/medium combination....I wish I used them much earlier...
never used them when I was a full time bucker man...now that I play Strats and tele's most if the time I don't think I could live without them!
i use them alot, but i dont like it when they cut too deep into the midrange of the pickup tone. I'm just going to grab .01 uf orange drops so i can roll off the very tip of treble on my strat.
Only when I try to play jazz.
I use it here and there if I need to smooth things out a bit. It yeilds some interesting sounds when used with the bridge pickup and light overdrive.
