I repainted my Strat that has a recessed Floyd Rose. The firm thin foam that was in the recessed pocket was torn and discarded. Does anyone know of a source to buy the foam?

It's just thin foam rubber,try a hobby or craft shop.
Hobby shops that sell rc cars/planes should have em. Thats what you wrap radio receivers and fuel tanks in
