hey guys, a friend of mine recommended this forum cuz he said you guys are the best so i need some help figuring out a particular wiring scheme for my customized fender p bass. to start its got a dimarzio p j pickup set up on it and i wanted to go further and add a duncan quarter pound single coil p bass pickup and install this up close to the neck. to make switching tones easier i wanted to add a 3 way on/off/on switch to activate my neck and bridge pickups and thus give me the options of neck middle/middle/middle bridge at any given time. ive attached a schematic of what i think the wiring should be. in particular im unsure about how to wire the pickups into the selector (no experience with it) i want to keep the 3 vol and 1 tone set up to make sure i can shape my sound and evenly apply my tone, plus having a bunch of knobs looks cool. so if there are any corrections that need to the diagram please let me know.

Thats not bad, but theres a couple things I might change:

The two blue lines that go to the switch can go direct to the center lug. The quot;jumperquot; you have drawn on there is redundant. It serves no purpose.

Second, I'd take the pups direct to the volume controls, then switch the output of the volume pots. The way you have it now, when only the middle pup is selected, it will still see the load of all three volume pots.

But other than that, it should work great.

Yes. Exactly. Although, you did change one other thing in the new drawing. You now have the two quot;outsidequot; pups turning on at the same time, whereas in the first drawing, the switch turned on one in one direction, and the other in the other direction.

If you go with what you have now, you'ld only need an on-off switch. If you want that switch to select one or the other, you need to move the bottom left connection to the bottom right lug.

Does that make sense?
