I heard this pedal would be able to give me a quot;classicquot; heavy metal tone, like Judas Priest, Black Sabbath etc. and much crazier if wanted.. (I know it's a kind of 'legendary' pedal if you would use that word), and I found one for cheap, so would it hurt buying it? Would I be able to use it? or is it pretty bad?

My friend in high school had one, through a fender stage amp he sounded just like whitesnake or whatever other 80s band you want to be, lol.

I'd say go for it, as long as it's like 30 bucks or less.

You'll sound like 80's L.A. Metal, not British Metal. For British Metal, a cranked Marshall or Laney is the tool.

use a guv nor if you want some british sound=

1. The Guv'nor actually is a sweet sounding pedal.

Whats the difference between the Gov'nor and jackhammer?

I have a jackhammer right now and It seems to take some of the EL-84'ness out.

I thought the Guv'nor is maybe a less distorted, bluesier tone than the Jackhammer, which is supposed to be for harder stuff?

1, but a poor imitation, nonetheless...

By itself, IMO the HM-2 sounds awful..... With some tweaking though, they make a helluva goose for a 2203.
