Woohoo, I recieved my Epi SG jr. 3 days after it was sent. It is everything I expected more. Also, The seller was amazing, he freshly oiled the fret board, the set up is very nice. It came packed very well, and the only damage is a little scratch that was mentioned in the Auction. It is only noticable when you look very closely. It plays so well, he even put brand new strings. I wasn't to sure about the p-90 because I never played one, But gosh! It is awesome, the cleans are to die for, it sounds better then any pickup I have ever tried personally on cleans. So smooth and full of bite, I like how the sound is almost a little dark but still a good amount of warmth. Of course I had to change my settings on my amp because it is lacking bass, I figured it would because of the sg's thin body. Also, I heard the P-90 was noisy but on clean channel it is not that noisy at all.
On the over-drive channel that is a different story! So rich and the bottom end is pretty very nice! Very full sounding, which was surprising because I thought it would sound a little thin on SG. Harmonics leap off this baby with ease. But this is wherer the noise comes in, it is not the noise i thought. It was as noisy as my strat until I put hot rails in it. Im sure when I upgrade the pup to a p-90 it will sound even better and prolly have less noise.
There are no buzzy frets and the only thing I need to upgrade is the volume nob it is a bit loose but that is no biggy. Another thing I was surpised about was the weight, Im not sure if its a bad thing but it weights like nothing. It is so light I can bearly feel it on my with my strap. But that is prolly because Im used to playing my explorer copy which is pretty heavey, maybe about 8.5 pounds or so. Another bonus is that I wanted to upgrade to 11's from 10's and the new strings he put on are 11's.
NEW STUFF ROCKS

I love the neck on mine!! I find it to be real fast and easy to play. I also think its nice and comfortable to play, even though its a bit thinner then my explorer copy I find it easier for lead type stuff. I can reach like 5 frets over with ease and great pull offs and bends
Get a '60s neck, they are smaller. The SG-X necks are perfect for me. I think it is really close to the '60s.
are the gibson necks chunkier than the epi's then?

I haven't played one of the Epi SG Juniors, but I have two of the Gibson SG Junior models. One of the necks is pretty fat almost like a 50's Les Paul neck and the other's is somewhere between it and a 60's Les Paul neck.

I must have an quot;in betweenquot; neck then. It is thinner than most Gibbys, yet rounded, and has a kind of quot;squarequot; feel in the first position.
