80's USA Schecter PT

01 USA Fender P-bass Ash White BlondeTakamine EG330RC a/e69' MIA Epiphone parlormy picture skills are a bigger butcher job than my playing skills...lol

Nice, thoughtful collection. But where are the amps?

Ah, you finally got that Schecter off a halfyear layaway!!! That would kill me!!

I love that model Schecter. You got a gem! I still think it needs nickel Duncans, like a 59 set or Seths. Since they put 3 strap buttons on there, you should get a couple sets of Schallers.
There's two reasons why Schecter/Anderson put dual strapbuttons on the end. The guitar is easier to lean against something (probably not a good idea). Also, you can choose which height to set your guitar at. Use the top button when you stand, and move the strap to the lower one, when you sit, or want it riding high.

I really like your Fender white/ash bass too! I'd love to have that.

no amps yet...i sold alot of my stuff off this past year under duress...lol

but i'm working on it...

i actually have a nickel covered 59 and Customcustom staring at me right now GJ...but i'm waiting till i get an amp so i can see if those will be the right fit for it...?!

the finish on that P-bass is dreamy for sure...the pics don't do it justice at all!

sadly i think i'm gonna end up trading it for an amp...i KNOW i'll regret it but...the amp g.a.s. monster...he is soooo EVIL!!!

That Schecter is gorgeous! Definitely a worthy addition to the collection.

That's awesome. Love that Schectery goodness.

Oh, I am soooo jealous, because I'm still mourning the one that got away...
Circa 1985... I'm the doofus on the left that later sold his PT.

Now that I see the pics, I'm sure that it's an original, US, no-name, Schecter quot;black telecaster-shaped guitar just like the one Pete Townsend playsquot;. There have been so many variations of this over years (of widely varying quality) that it's hard to tell what's what. But that's the real deal, and you got it for about 1/3 of what its worth.

Backstory: When Mike was thinking of buying this, I let him call me at work from the store, and I coached him through the process of figuring out what it was. quot;Does it have two strap buttons?quot; quot;No, but there's an empty hole for a second one.quot; quot;Does it have shiny pickups covers with rounded edges, or satin plastic ones with sharp edges?quot;

Hooboy, am I glad we got it right.

Enjoy that beauty in good health, Mike, and never sell it (like the doofus in the picture).

If you decide to change pickups, let me know. I have that Korean goldtop PT body wanting pickups (the HB103 set is so not right for this guitar) and I'm apparently one of the few folks who actually like those Schecter pickups.

No offense GJ, but...

Gah! Duncans yes, nickel no! That guitar needs to stay all black (with that classy hint of brass showing though, of course). If you have to swap pups, just put double black coils in it. That's what Pete had, and that's the way it should be.
