Now that I'm gigging again, I'm going to need a good pedalboard.
I'll need one that can hold pedals like these:
Vox or Fulltone Clyde Wah
Fulltone 69 Fuzz
Ibanez TS-808
Boss DS-1 Distortion/Overdrive
Boss CE-2 Chorus
Boss DD-6 Stereo Digital Delay
Boss RV-3 Stereo Reverb
I'll probably not bring all this stuff but I'd like one that can hold the Wah and at least four pedals. What do you guys recommend I look into? I'm looking at the Boss BCB-60 from : localhost/Although I'll try to find one locally. But the reviews seem to indicate I may have a hard time fitting my Vox Wah or Fulltone Clyde into it...any ideas?
Thanks, Lew
from : localhost/good options there ... i got the biggest one that is discontinued now
If you want a heavy-duty one: from : localhost/Great products, very nice people to deal with.
Thanks Guys! Any other suggestions? Anyone experienced with the Boss I was considering? Lew
I really like my pedaltrain board with a voodoo labs pedal power 2, but that will cost you a lot more than the boss. The pedaltrain boards are really high quality, and I like how you can wire everything underneath the board. I'm pretty sure that they don't cost as much as the heavy-duty case companies' boards too.
I would suggest laying out a piece of large blank paper or a newspaper, the lay out your pedals how you would if they were on a board. You will know how large a board you will really need at this point, then you can narrow your options down.
no complaints with my pedal pad! i have the HUGE MPS-XL one but they make smaller ones.

the boss one is cheap...iv seen them chip and break easy....my freind had one only for 3 gigs and then ended up buying a pedaltrain and there much better like a tank. chris
I'm making my own out of an old guitar case - making it semi flight etc. I'll post pics when it's done.

I had one by Boss that was similar. It was fine as long as it had Boss pedals in it....Tubescreamers and other pedal wouldn't fit correctly.
I ended up making my own out of good quality plywood and covered it in that black fuzzy stuff they use to cover speaker cabinets. It only took a couple of hours to build and a twenty dollar bill spent (that is including the industrial strength Velcro for the pedal bottoms). The good thing about making your own is you can make it the exact size that you need.
SKB makes a good one for the money that is more user friendly than the Boss IMHO.
I'm real happy with my RockOn pedalboard.
One thing you might appreciate is that they come with gig bags rather than hard cases. That makes 'em a lot lighter, which is nice if you're schlepping it on a regular basis.
I use the Furman SPB-8 and I think it's great.
Lew...I dropped you a PM about a pedal board...

Got it! Thanks! I don't mind waiting a few weeks for the right thing. Sounds like the Boss I was considering is cheap and may not fit some of non-Boss pedals like my my Fulltone stuff. I need to fit that 69 pedal and Fulltone Clyde Deluxe in there for sure...those are the ultimate pedals for Hendrix tone IMO. I also may want to include my PE Experience pedal... Lew
