so i had to pick up some stuff from the music store today, and they had 3 of the new ones, 2 solid colors and one of the ones pictured in gearjoners thread (the dark colored soapbar one).

both were played through a new marshall handwired (which is a killer amp, by the way):

both played very simulra, only difference was that one had humbuckers and one had p-90's. first thing that you notice is these guitars are very light. i was shocked. i mean, waaay less than a strat, it was quite remarkable. both played very nicely, the neck was fast and felt very solid, and fit my hand very well (dont know what the shape is though). felt like a much more expencive guitar all around.
the sound of the humbucker one was rather nice. sounded much like any other prs. it really shined with some overdrive (i through a pedal in front for a little while with this one, not with the p-90 one though). sounded almost like a gibson, almost. but felt very much like a strat. basiclaly a typical prs..for 500 bucks.
the p-90 one was sweet. holy cow. it reaalllly looks good. the sound out of this thing through the marshal was killer. think of a really good blues sound, i really dont know how to discribe it any better. its was just a really really good guitar. if i were to get a guitar now, it would be this one hands down...

great guitars all around, looks, playability, and sound...

yeah i played one of those p- 90 ones (not sure of the exact model) and was quite impressed. i played it through a mesa f- 50 combo, and the cleans and overdrive/ distortion were great.
