Hmm.. If I save ALL of my income for a year, I could get that. I wonder what the Dimarzios sound like..

I wonder if this is one of those quot;Musicians Friend Exclusivesquot; ? I've never seen a a Reissue with stock DiMarzio's (why?)

I wondered the same thing, but someone reminded me of DiMarzio's patent or trademark on double cream bobbins. If this guitar needed that look, it's the only choice they could go with.

I'd buy it if it came in Vintage sunburst. Sell the DMZ's, and use that cash to get some Ants.

Call it sour grapes if you want, but since when did Gibson make a transparent black standard in 1959? How can they quot;reissuequot; a guitar that they never made?

1, and if your gonna pay 5k for a guitar, do you really want Dimarzio's in it?...

I'll stick with my Heritage Vintage Burst, with DUNCAN dbl. cremes. Dimarzio

Fretfire, are you ill?

Luke

sure looks good with some zebra pups in it.

Heritage all the way. Not to incur too much flaming, but I'm just amazed at some of the poor quality I've seen on multi-thousand dollar Gibsons....

Les Paul with a Super Distortion sounds great....if you like DMs then why not?

I saw that a couple of weeks ago and got a good laugh.

i'm waiting for the version with the EMG select pickups

I have a Super Dist in my Ibanez, so I'm not just bashing DMs.

It seems DMs fit newer style guitars whereas SDs seem to fit the vintage, of course thats just my opinion but that is the way it works for me...

But yeah, if you are gonna buy it, then you are welcome to put anything in there, you could even have NO pickups if you wanted to be real crazy (I can almost visualise Les Paul putting the needles in the voodoo doll right now...)

BTW - The bit you quoted was supposed to say 5k for a guitar like that, as in vintage style...

They should have put some real pickups in it.....like the MF Duncan 50th Anniversaries. Then, they should fire all the lawyers who run Gibson, who probably never played guitar, and sell that thing for $2400. Honestly, who goes out and buys a $5000 black Les Paul? Not even collectors are that dumb.....they're out looking for $5000 flametops for $2500!!!!
