you guys MUST do this, if you are scared of messing with the guts of your pedal, send it to stratdeluxer97 (i heard he does this). its really easy to do, in fact its easier than changing pups. one chip and two resistor changes and wow! it costs only a few dollors in parts.

That's the Standard TS-808 mod that you did. I think SD97's mod is a bit more envolved. The TS-808 mod is a good mod, But very subtle IMO.
I did the mod myself- bought the 4558 chip and output resistors off a guy in e-bay for $20. Made the pedal alot clearer and less distorted, though now I just use it as a booster with the drive down

That's only the very simplest of the mods to your TS9 but some good mods....You've only scratched the surface and there are mods for more gain, more lows, cleaner low drive settings, and less midrange hump...These are all part of my normal TS mods.. Very cool that you did the mods yourself though!

Sorry to say,but you got really bent over on the prices for the output resistors and the 4558D....Mouser sells all the parts for under a few dollars! Gotta watch what you're buying? Most guys are buying the current JRC4558D from Mouser/Digikey etc and charging alot of money for about a 30 cent chip..How do these
people sleep at night!
I own and have used both the early JRC4558D chips and have compared them with the new ones....No tonal differences? Maybe you got lucky and actually got an early 80s chip though? You can tell by the number stampings on top of the chip..Here's your chip....Look at the prices...

Great report stonabus. i've been planning to do some modding tinkering. StratDeluxer encouraged me a while back to give it a shot and mod my own pedal. I think I'm gonna to it. I'm gonna build a headphone amplifier (found schematic at guitar gadgets) and do a mod on my DS-1 with a kit from Monte Allums...Then who knows what I'll do.
I'm gonna try to find my own cloud.
Learning i great fun.
