For anyone that's interested in blocking your floating trem, like a floating Floyd Rose or Wilkinson, so the bar only pushes down, Floyd Rose just came out with a trem stop. It's a little hard to get, but here's a place you can buy it. I installed it on my Ibanez RG570- better tone, more sustain, than if it was floating. It's better than any simialr products out there and easy to install.

i wonder what exactly makes this thing cost USD 20.
If the trem (=metal) is pressed onto the tremstop (=metal) doesn't it clank if the trem vibrates from the strings?
I made one for mine, got a bit of wood, cut it to size, all done... (well 1st one was crap, but second one worked!)
I also use a block of wood, mine actually runs th whole length of the spring block, and it sits between the block and the cavity instead of being mounted on the top.
I'm no expert, but I would think that wood would be better as far as tone and sustain go.
It clanks when the block hits it. But it doesn't vibrate from the strings. Matter of fact, due to the solid contact, I feel the saddles vibrate under my hand.
