I need some help...Does anyone know which pickups the quot;Standard SD'squot; are?? I've researched this so god damn much, and i've not had any luck. Also, if anyone knows where i can order a Gibson SG pickguard, that would be fantastic! Thank you

I would think that quot;standerd SD'squot; would be JB/Jazz but i dont know for sure

I 've never heard any pickups called Standard Duncans. Are trying to find the most popular pickups used?
As for the SG, there a couple of different types. Is this a Special or a Standard..or a 61RI you are looking for?
Basically, i have an Epiphone G400 with two SD 59's....But i'm not too fond of the quot;halfquot; pickguard that you get with the G400, and i've had it for over a year now, so i'd like to put a normal SG pickguard on there. I'm just having alot of trouble finding one, i'm from the UK..so..it's a bit hard to find one. Plus, if i did get one....What would i have to do to screw it in? I'm pretty sure i'd have to drill new screw holes or something, and i really don't want to mess it up.....Cheers
I don't know if Gibson pickguards will fit Epis, but here are a few links I Googled.

Aww, cheers mate! That's brilliant...I'll try emailing some guitar techs and see what they say..
That quot;halfquot; pickguard IS the normal SG guard...the big one came later on. Also...the big style will not fit on your SG...your SG has pickup rings for mounting whi9le the bigger one mounts the pickups IN the guard also...the neck set is different. I am not 100% sure that it won't fit but I am pretty sure.
Hi Dave, I don't think there'd be any problem making a standad SG pickguard fit. You would have to drill a few extra holes and ditch the pickup rings, unless you wanted to keep the pickup rings, then you could just fit them over the scratchplate; that's what I'd do. I think that the SG pickups present better to the strings when mounted in a ring.
WD products in the UK can supply one of the scratchplates, they aren't expensive, probably around 15 quid.

Or go along and see Steve the guitar tech at Sound Control in Manchester, he could get you one and probably fit it for you as well.
I'd check out Ebay for an SG pickguard. Lots of variety and cheap.
