Hey guys.

What sort of pots do I need to replace those in an Epi LP100?

I know I need 500k pots, but do I need long or short shaft? Split or solid shaft?

Thanx for any replies.

Craig

pretty sure short shaft is fine in the lp100. split or solid shaft only effects what knobs you use

Thanx for the info Jeremy

Long shafts are not required with Epi's! Just make sure you dont get the pots made to go into pickguards either (they only have a little over the thickness of the pickguard on the thread section).

Thanx for the heads up Theodie

How does changing the pots effect the sound?

I'm not sure to be honest

The guitar I'm changing the pots on doesn't belong to me. A local school has given me the guitar to see if I can make it work, and the 1st place I'm starting is the switch, jack socket and the pots

It depends what you are changing.

If you are changing track values it will have a noticeable effect on the audio taper and the tone.

If you are just putting better quality pots in you won't notice any immediate difference in sound, but they will last longer, fel smoother and make less noise.
