The DiMarzio V PAF's
well this prolly is gonna be as good as ya can get. I posted this over in the amp forum.
VHT Deliverance head. Gibson R8, VPAFS.
This guy is a monster with the phrasing. VHT/R8/VPAF
As I have mentioned I have a V Paf and V Hot in my wolfie special (american version) and like them alot. This guy is an awesome player and definately showed how quot;openquot; these pups sound. The only thing I've noticed is that the bottom isn't as pronounced as let's say a 59 (of course if it sounded like a 59 then it wouldn't be a DiMarzio would it). All in all, I really like these DiMarzios and plan on keeping them in my wolfie special. I'm also considering them in my wolfie standard down the road. I think DiMarzio hit a homerun with these and would be interesting to see if Duncan comes up with a simular model.

Agreed..I've noticed that as well. They don't quite have that low end quot;thudquot; of 59. From what I can tell the VPAFs sound quite a bit like my BB Pros but have more of that quot;openquot;, or quot;airyquot; quality to them than the BBpros.
You can also hear a little single coil vibe to them..subtle...but nice. Very apparent when he flips to the neck pickup...not quite as fat as a normal humbucker and a bit more chime.
Neat pickups. The more I hear them, the more I like them.

i thought of that combo for my les paul before ordering my custom/a2pro combo.
emailed dimarzio and asked them if the norton or breed neck would be like a hotter and bassier virtual hot paf, they said to pick the norton.
