ive been using ghs boomers for a while since it was all I had and since im a drummer i dont change strings much since I dont play guitar fulltime anymore
but i had my side project practice with me on guitar and I changed my guitars strings to DR tite fits.. and brought it up to E standard..
those strings are feel so nice and the feel is nice and tight on my strat.
i can just play my strat without being plugged in and its nice and it resonates loud.
ive been using dr strings for a while and really like em
1! dr are the best i have tried so far.

The Pure Blues have a nice warm, creamy tone. The High Beams have the nice edginess that's great for Metal. Anyone notice a difference between the Tite-Fit and the High Beams?
Someday I'll try those Snake Oil strings.
Have they actually gotten better? Last time I used them was when they were sending samples out to folks to try out. I hated 'em. The stuff they put in between the nickel winding kept coming out. I stopped using them at that point and went back to Dean Markley.
?? I dunno what strings those were, btu my tite fits are metal on metal like a string should be...
They may not make them anymore. I don't see them listed on the web site.
They had some silk like stuff in between the windings. You could see it. They sounded good for about 2 days and then the stuff started to come out, practically unwind itself.
I love DR's bass strings, but I haven't yet managed to find a set of their guitar strings that I like that much. They do feel nice -- very smooth and silky, which is pretty unlike any other strings I've played -- but the mids seem somehow less complex with DRs (I've used the Tite-fit and the Pure Blues) than they do with the D'Addario EXLs I usually use.
DR Pure blues 10's on all my axe's... every so often I try a new brand and I just dont like it... I didn't like the tite fits... pure blues is just the best.
im actually going to compare the dr's and d'addario's on electric...
i absolutely love d'addario acoustic strings..last far longer than martin sp's which i used to use..
they sound both great but for the money the d'addario last way longer on acoustics, not to mention i wash my hands and clean my guitar every other time i play and wipe the strings.
I just recently jumped on the DR bandwagon. I don't see myself jumping off any time soon. Absolutely zero complaints, except maybe the price. But it's not really fair for me to expect a pack of strings to be less than $1.00, is it?
I haven’t looked back since trying the DRs. I string everything with the Pure Blues 10s, with the exception of my LP, which gets Tite-Fit 11s. I tried the Hi-Beams once, but found them to be a little edgy with too much spank. For some reason I didn’t like the Pure Blues on the LP as much as I like the Tite-Fits.
AFAIK, the Tite-Fits and the Hi-Beams have identical material compositions, only difference being the Hi-Beams have a hex core. Tite-Fits have a round core.

I've been wanting to try the Pure Blues. Perhaps it's time.
I switched over to them quite recently as well. No complaints here, I was a long time D'Addario user and I feel like I could use a change. DRs just feel better to me.
I'll have to give them a try... Been hearing a lot about them lately... I usually use D'Addarios or Markley's... Are they that much better..? How do they price out in comparison..?
Most places around here, they're about a buck more than D'addario's and two more than Dean Markley's. not enough price difference to make price a deciding factor, imo. I know many players who swear by DR and, like I mentioned before, I've never found a line of bass strings that can compare. Their Fat Beams are my favortie string for most basses and for the couple for which the Fat Beams don't answer, the Lo-Riders do very well. the Hi-beams are good too, but I defintely prefer the sound of the Fat Beams.
And I certainly can't complain about the longevity of their guitar strings. Their uncoated strings almost rival other manufacturers coateds in the number of playing hours you'll get out of them. If the sound pleases you, then they are quite possibly the perfect string. Unfortunately for me, it's the sound that falls flat for my tastes. I really like a string that has a bit of granularity to its voice; something with some grind and growl. Neither the Pure Blues nor the Tite-Fits seem to have that on any of the three guitars I've tried them on. They seem to have a very clear, focused and singular voice that I'm sure is just right for many people but that I find to be somehow lacking in character. They came on the 7 string I bought recently and they sound pretty good. However, I just put Elixir's on another guitar and I really like them.
