Ok, whats the difference between Ts808 and Ts9'???

IIRC (other than the model) there´s most importantly a different chip working inside, whick colors the tone differently....

but don´t ask me which one is quot;betterquot; or quot;more vintagequot;, as there I don´t have a clue

Your basic TS-9 to TS-808 conversion mod requires you to change the opamp
( IC Chip) to a JRC 4558 and lower the value of 2 resistor's. Other than that.. it's the same curcuit.

yeah, it's funny how such small changes can make so much difference in tone.

Tonewise I like the 808 better since the 4558 has a more articulate voice and more bass response. Other than that the difference is subtle.

Yeah.... but I mean, if people can hear a chrome Floyd as ballsier than a gold one and even moreso compared to a black one.... well, it just gets back to quot;every little thing makes a differencequot;

True, it's the little things that kill and a simple mod made my TS-9 kill
Personally I'd get a TS-9 instead of the reissue 808 and mod it (or have it modded) I can give you some links if you want more info.

That is if you are planning on buying one of course.

There's alot more to be done on the TS series though after the output resistor and opamp change to really bring this series around....It has 2 problems,1 is a loss of lows when engaged and the second is a midrange spike that most of us hate....The pedal benefits from more gain and more balls to become an excellent pedal from just a good pedal...
