Hi,

I recently A/B'd my old Guyatone WR-2 Wah Rocker and a new Boss AW-3 Dynamic Wah. The WR-2 has just two knobs while the AW-3 has 6 modes, 3 control knobs and a better case and what not. Still, the WR-2 won.

I have the WR-2 between a tremolo and a distortion pedal. This way the trem rate can control the wah effect, and I like my wah before the distortion. When I put the AW-3 in the setup, the distorted tone lost BALLS (it lost quite a lot of lows, some highs and some definition and immediacy). Also, the AW-3 did not respond to the trem as readily and dynamically as the WR-2 does.

I believe the fact that the AW-3 is digital is the culprit here. I would never believe it if I didn't hear it myself.

So now, can you recommend any good ANALOG touch wah pedals that I should check out? As much as I like the WR-2, I want to try something else as well. Are the older Boss AW-2 and TW-1 worth trying? Are they analog or digital? How about the MuTron?

Thanks

Tony

Bump

The old Ibanez one and the Emma somethingverystrangenameitis.

I use an EH Dr.Q and it smokes. I love the response from that pedal.

I had a old MXR Envelope Filter that sounded great! Wish I still had it

Thanks guys. I'll do a little research on the products that you suggest.
Thanks again.
Tony
