my nashville tele arrived today, with a huge chunk out of the bottom! im sending it back tomorrow, and im getting a lite ash tele instead. stupid factory workers droppin stuff!Interesting thing about dinged guitars, etc...
Way back in the day, my friend got an LTD EXP, the top of the line import in black. We were huge Hetfield fans and it looked just like his axe at the time. When it came it had a little chip on the edge. He of course returned the guitar because he didn't want a chipped guitar... It turns out that was the last of thier stock (because of the Gibson lawsuit) and he couldn't even get that guitar back and had to take a credit. He much rather would have taken the guitar -$100 or something than lose it all together.
But seeing as you are getting a completely different guitar, this is completely irrelevant.
Why not just get another Nash Tele as a direct replacement?

lite ash tele's coming!
I have a lite ash strat in vintage white. it's awesome. I replaced stock black plastics with real fender parchment parts. it looks classy. the duncan AP2's work well with maple neck and lite ash body.
It's a sad commentary that they would even send a guitar like that out. Inexcusable, IMO.
i just played a lite ash tele at a locoal store the other day, natural with seymour duncan alnico 2's. great playing guitar and it sounds awesome. proabably one of the best guitars ive played .

They probably sent it out with the ding. Then when it's returned, they'll smack the box, so they can blame the shipping co.
What co. did you buy the guitar from??

:6: lt;-- korean guitars are better than mexican guitars, from my experience. plus, the hardwear is better with the lite ash. another reason is, i originally intended on getting a lite ash, but i liked the idea of modding the crap out of a nashville. i was really bummed about the paint job too, the quot;honey blondequot; was more like quot;refrigerator brownquot; there was no wood grain showing at all.
note- i ordered it from musicians friend. but it was dinged buy someone in the fender factory. the outside box was really clean, so it didnt happen from fed-ex. the chips of paint were still in the plastic-padded bag thing that the guitar is wrapped in. (not the gig bag, but the bag withing the bag) the chip was all the way to the wood! even some of the wood was flaking off. yikes dude. i forgot to mention that the nut was uneven, the low e was on the edge and the high e was a good 1/4 inch inside the fretboard! at least the tweed case that i bought was in good condition, it actually looks really nice, as well.
Sounds like the hombres at the Fender plant were a little woozy off the Horchata that day. :
If this would've been a Gibson this happened to, this thread would be 30 pages long of regurgitating parrots!!
Yeh thats defiantly right Jolly. But I don't really see gibsons with dings that much in shops.
