Hi !
I've got hum with my Hot Stacks (Fender strat : neck/middle)
It dissapears slowly when I turn the treble down.
I've got a 500K volume pot and not a 250K (because I've got a JB Jr in bridge position)
Is it possible that a high value pot gives more hum than a 250K one ? Too much presence in high end... ?
Thanks.
Guil.
fyi, it's not hum that I get but HISS !
Does a 500K volume pot gives more hiss to a single-coil (even hum-cancelling) ?

If so, it's not the pickups that are noisey, but your amp.
Actually I don't have too much hiss with my amp quot;Marshall 8240quot;.
I've got hiss with a Roland multitrack recorder BR-864... A white noise that dissapears when I turn the compression off or if I turn the treble parameters down. This white noise is more important when I use headphones.
