Hello everyone! I haven't posted here in awhile, but I have a pretty good reason to come back..
My 2 guitars have been stolen by someone.. My '02 PP Wine Red Les Paul, and my '02 Mexi Strat...
I noticed them gone on Sunday.. I played them on Saturday.. Sunday, right before I went to work.. They weren't downstairs, so I figured my dad or my bro put them upstairs or something.. I didn't bother to look upstairs before going to work.. So It had to happen on Saturday..
Someone I knew did it. They took my 2 guitars. My friend Tim has all his guitars at my house also.. They're still here.. Even though he has a less expensive Epiphone SG, and No-name strat.. If someone was trying to make money they would've taken them all. Someone is really pissed at me..
I don't know what I did to someone.. But it's terrible. I feel like I've lost my children.. It's the worst feeling in the world. I've worked my heart and soul for my gear for the past 2 years.. Now to lose $2500 worth of gear is killing me. I feel like crying like a baby.. Who would do this to me? I live in the Suburbs. It's a very nice neighborhood.. I have no enemies.. I just don't understand it.. My PAUL AND STRAT
I'm not sure about insurance yet.. My dad is calling the police today.. But I many pictures of both guitars. I just can't believe this happened.. They were my babies. Someone sympathize for me.. PLEASEEE!!!

I've been in a similar situation nearly 6 years ago ...
Basically someone broke into our house and managed to steal my guitar, take it out of the hardcase and put in my gig bag, find my strap, find my distortion pedal and the only other thing they took was my brother's laptop ...
???
I hate it when the circumstances make the most likely suspect someone you know
Sorry to hear about it
Good luck with that. It sucks when someone violates you're home. Chances are, you know the person as Prophet said.
Hope all works out.
Jeff
Yeah.. It's not just about the money and the guitars.. It's about respect for other people's property.. Who would do this? and why?
That sucks, dude.
Cory,
your Dad is doing the right thing. If you have good insurance you will get some cash, But do yourself a favor and go to this site and register your stolen guitars. I hope you have the serial numbers. Here is the site.
from : localhost/luck Man.... I feel your pain!
You should also go to all the music and pawn shops in the area and let the owners know to be on the lookout for your guitars. Also let the owners know that you will offer a reward for them, as well as the fact the the theft was reported to the police. This is a good way to get all potential parties working towards the recovery of your stuuf. Man that sucks big time
i can't stand theives!!!
nothing like having something you worked for taken by some lazy lowlife!!!
definitely check with the homeowner's insurance to see if you can get some cash to try and replace them!?
Guitar thieves are some of the lowest forms of scum! Do as Bludave says, call every pawn shop listed in your phone book and ask if they've been offered any guitars lately ( ask if they've been getting A LOT of guitars pawned recently, it might establish a pattern by a certain rat). Check out any music stores that sell used equipment. Think of every person in the past few weeks that has been around your guitars ( write down every name that you can remember so you can filter through the friends and filchers) usually any quot;friendquot; that's been around recently that could be a thief has made his/hers plans right under your nose by knowing your schedules (best time to steal your valuables).
Good luck!
Oh, Jesus, man, I'm hurting just reading this. Good luck with finding the kids.
Wow, sorry to hear that man. Do you think you might have an idea of who took them?
Ryan
sorry to read of this, bro ... follow the good advice here and report it and get with the pawnshops / used music gear shops
let the cops squeeze anyone who's been in the house (friend of a sibling?, etc)?
sounds like an inside job ... could be solvable
good luck

Personally I would find and beat the living snot out of anyone that did that to me. I'd have to hold back from killing them.
If you haven't filed a police report do it pronto. It's unlikely they'll be out scouring the street for your axes but you never know where they might turn up. I know of plenty of times when good guitars are mysteriously found at tweaker houses. Some thief has used a $1000 guitar to score $20 of meth. Police may sieze the instrument in a raid and it will get sold in an auction without that report. If you had the serial numbers this greatly improves your chances of finding the guitar. You can bet that if specific guitars were taken it is some s***head who has been to your house and seen your guitars. Also, this way if you see it in a pawn shop you have something better than your word that the guitar belongs to you. And yes there is no form of life lower than guitar thieves (except possibly Michael Jackson?).
I would definitely contact a ninja if you find the thieves. Some flipping out would be in order and they leave no trace

I was gonna suggest the exact same thing. And if you do the right stuff you might actually get them back... it happens more often than you'd think. Good luck man!

I would definitely contact a ninja if you find the thieves. Some flipping out would be in order and they leave no trace ninjas guard my guitars. They also take out my trash. I highly recommend.
Don't forget to look on ebay - you know the stuff - I'm selling this guitar for a friend, plays well, no reserve etc.
Good luck
That sucks.
On another note, maybe we can learn from this. This may be a good reason why NOT to post pics of all the gear you own, especially prized possessions. Some people go so far as to provide links to other sites with more information about themselves, so that basically you're advertising where you are and exactly what you have.
Well, My dad called the cops.. We're getting a police report done tonight. So hopefully something will come up.. I miss my babies! But thanks for the support guys..
Cory
Dude, sorry man. Its always a crap situation when something you enjoy and paid for gets nicked by some low life.
I was thinking of your plight and remembered something that has worked occasionally for me in the past. Mention to some at school who has a big mouth how the cops came and dusted for prints and they told you there were a bunch of good ones. Then add that you just want your guitars back and would be willing to forget the whole thing if they just showed up on your back door. Sometimes you get lucky with that kind of thing.
