Pedals that can make cool noises for atmospheric applications, could you please list some?Bee

-the discontinued digitech space station
-any reverb pedal that allows 100% wet
-any delay pedal
add any/all 3 to a looping pedal, and you got some awesome noisemaking tools
ok, i'm a bit of a boss geek
DC-2 and DC-3, if you can find one
the RV-5 has a 'modulate' effect that i love, i'd buy one for the modulate alone..
failing that, the SYB-3, AW-3 or SG-1 (good luck finding that ) all make pretty unusual noises.. mebbe a multieffect would have some of the rarer effects, the SG-1 and DC pedals in particular go for silly amounts...

Ah ha! my area of expertise. Wierd noises.
Electro Harmonix is a good place to start. The deluxe memory man can provide you with some insane pitchshifting stuff if you set the feedback to unlimited and then twist the delay knob, most delays can do this, but not with the style of the EHX. as a amient delay, this thing is second to none.
Also be sure to check out thier whole range, the micro synth and graphic fuzz are some of my other choice cuts.
Zvex. The Fuzz Factory kicks butt. The most insane, versatile fuzz pedal i have ever heard. Makes a line 6 distortion modeler redundant, with five knobs and some analogue circuitry.
If you can find them, Way Huge made some great pdals, the aqua puss delay being a personal favourite.
Lovetone, the meatball and cheese something or other have recently been reissued, these can make some great way out sounds, ones a distortion, the other is a... well, thats anyones guess really.
The old mooger fooger pedals too, recently re-issued, the phaser and ring modulator are pretty mind bending in their sound sculpting technique.
Frantone make some cool stuff too. based in NYC, i checked out the peachfuzz recently, stoner heaven.
Also, don't forget to check out all the old secondhand shops for some crazy old analogue stuff. I picked up an old fuzz-wah for next to nothing, sounds amazing!
If you want anymore info about any crazy pedals, dont hesitate to ask.
Still looking for a roland space echo in the local pawn shop...
I'd start by stringing a couple of delay pedals together with some verb.
The Ibanez DE-7 will do self oscillation
The Digitech DigiDelay is a good/cheap second delay with some nice features.
I used to have an old Boss stereo chorus (CE-3?) that had the option to do dry/wet out. Using the wet channel delay and or flanger would be sweet.
EHx pedals!!!
That's probably the only pedals I know of that have over-the-edge max settings on their knobs. I mean, where the knobs are on 10 on other pedals, you're at 12:00-2:00 on EHx ones...
The G-Force
The G-Major
The Yamaha Magic-Stomp

For quot;Ambient, atmospheric, wierd noisequot; stuff I prefer the following:
1. Dunlop Rotovibe - was one of the 1st that popped into my head.
2. Reverb and delay are essential. I prefer a nice sounding digital/hall verb with a good spring simulation. An RV-3 (reverb AND delay) is good if you can snag one. Also make sure that with the delay pedal you can fool around with the knobs and alter sounds to create quot;Raygun and Time-warpquot; effects real-time.
3. Chorus, Flangers and Phasers with extreme settings... high feedback produces weird tones somewhere between a UFO and a Jaw Harp. Also try stacking two flangers or choruses on top of each other with different settings and experiment to see what you get. You'd be amazed at what two chorused with relatively mild settings on their own can combine to do. For an example of the best dual-flanger sound ever, listen to Eric Johnson's quot;High Landronsquot;. I like Phasers that have quot;stepquot; or quot;sequencequot; settings too.
4. Digitech Whammys are great for producing crazy sounds.
5. Ring Modulators!!! Totally unpredictable noise fest if you get crazy enough with them.
I have a GT5 multi-unit that has most effects you'd commonly find and a few weird ones... but I find that the weirdest sounds come not from unusual processing but from experimentation and imagination with common effects.
When it comes to effects, there's so many colors of sound. I don't care about what something was DESIGNED to do, I wanna know what it CAN do. And when you look at it that way you can get some pretty crazy sh*t going on.

the best thing to do is combine effects. that gives you weirder/more original sounds
I like combining other FX with the Line 6 Green Delay pedal. I use a loop box, so the pedals can be setup, then I can use 1 button on the looper to turn them on/off.
Those L6 pedals have an infinite number of weird sounds you can find in them.
I like the EH Q-Tron and Memory Man, too.
The coolest envelope filter pedal I've ever used was a Lovetone Meatball. Too bad they cost as much as a guitar! Without a doubt, it was the funnest pedal I've plugged into.
A Feedback loop is another cool option
