I'm changing the bridge on my Tele, and the posts for the new bridge are spaced a little further apart.
Anyway, I have to wood fill the holes where the screws used to be (in the pic) to make new holes for the new Schaller Roller Bridge.
from : localhost/It seems like doing the wood-fills would be pretty easy. I'm going to take my guitar to the repair shop to have the new Schaller bridge installed, but I thought I could save some money if the wood is already filled in.
Tips on wood-filling guitar bodies, please Thanks!!
greg
nothing to it, fill the holes let dry til hard sand level and smooth, then refin if desired
by the way i really like your tele, its super bad @ss. i'm workin on a tele project myself. goin with the hip shot b bender and scruggs banjo tuners on the quot;equot;'s and a 3 pick up con. good luck with your project
Thanks! Yeah, that guitar will be my #1. Can you beleive it used to be a stock John 5 Tele before I got my hands on it??
Is this what I need?
from : localhost/www.prp-porshop.com/por-15-epoxy-putty.htm
i checked the link and it just goes to hd home page. all you need is any type of wood filler. tell whom ever you deal with at the hardware store what your doing and they will set you up. also i think you've done john 5 proud
I like to use dowels. You can get maple wood dowelling at various sizes in most hobby and hardware shops for next to nothing.Spot of wood glue, put in the dowel, cut level and spot sand or tap level.
