I would like to mod my epi les paul studio and change the pickups to Duncan '59 with 4-conductor
I was wondering do i need long shaft pots for all volume and tone controls.

And am I right in thinking that i need audio taper pots for volume and linear taper pots for tone.
And what combinations can be acheived with 2 push pull pots

pretty sure you can use normal shaft pots but becareful, not all pots will fit the the hole. sometimes the shaft is wider on american made stuff than foreign made stuff.

i use audio taper for every thing but its a preferance

what tones would you like to get out of the guitar?

with a vox clean and bright (bright for humbuckers but not single coil bright) but with a overdrive pedal anything for light crunch to sustaining lead (I don't excpect distortion from the pickup)

Follow up of what I wrote in your other thread.

With the push/pull knobs you have 8 combinations to find the sound you want. That's actually already quite impressive and it well take some time I guess to go around all the nice sounds you can get out of your axe with these pots on a LP.

With the '59 my favorite is the SC neck (Audioslave), HB neck or bridge (Led Zep, Slash) and SC bridge HB neck (full bass twanging treble).

Just go for it !!!

thanks

so regular shaft pots should work or should i get long shaft pots just incase
