I just want a cheap guitar with humbuckers to mod. I want something that is gonna play good and be built good. I don't have much money right now. I checked out some of the Agiles and they are nice. But I am kind of wanting an sg which they dont make. I just need to get something so i can finaly put that custom shop pickup in it and hear what it sounds like haha. All my other guitars I was working on getting fell through.
The Agiles are extreemly nice for the money, had an AD2500(DC Les Paul) for about a year then traded. So what is your budget? The Epi SG's are actually pretty nice, but you will have to sift through a bunch of junkers before finding a good one. But then that's the story with nearly all guitars in various classes. You may also want to check out some of the new Squiers:
This one's only $199
I have about $300 in my Agile total, including pickups and straplocks. It's a killer guitar.
Those Agiles really are ALOT of guitar for the $$$. I did have to upgrade the electronics and did alot of experimenting with the pups, but really didn't have much more that what you have into your's.
i was also considering the washburn N2 but i'm not sure. I want to get something that will go with that pickup when i ordered it I was suppossed to be getting an ltd viper so I had the specs done for a mahogany body and neck with rosewood board. I think the alder body and maple neck of the washburn might be too bright.
I'd say Epiphone. If you can play beforehand, some Epiphones are really good. The electronics would probably need switching out, but still, awesome guitars.
I'm looking at the agile les paul silverburst copies. there IS an sg style agile. here's the link.
from : localhost/not EXACTLY the same body, but close. Good Luck!

id go epi because the headstock son the agiles are kinda blah. But both are great axes to mod in terms of quality
I like my epiphones but I paid way too much for them.
How about tokai's their better than epiphone in quality based on money.
I'd honestly still go for an LTD Viper, even the viper 200 my friend has (Although professionally setup and with new pickups) is pretty nice. Albeit i've never played an Agile, and the Epiphone SG I tried I hated.
Agiles are real wood vs. Epiphone's quot;Mystery Woodquot; and ESP's cheapass quot;agathisquot; bodies though.

Epiphones are real wood. The mystery is whether or not it's mahogany, alder, or maple.
