Hi everyone...

Does anyone know if the Alnico Pro IIs in the Slash Signature Les Paul have two conductors or four?

I have one on layaway and I'm wondering if I can replace the tone knob with a push-pull pot to split the coils.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help.

i assume 4 cond but im only 99% sure

Excellent!

Then I can have even MORE options! Muahahahahahahaha!

Are they stock A2 Pro's? Seems I read somewhere slash actually got custom shop wound variants.

I've heard both that they're custom wound by Mr. Duncan himself, and that they're stock off the shelf. The first sets he put in were probably stock APH-1s. Now, though, I'd imagine that when Slash calls, he probably does get the custom shop versions LOL.

Man thats awsome, post some sound clips when you get it.

I would guess 4-conductor too as they're not a vintage clone. Regular Alnico II Pros are 4-conductor.Originally Posted by loran.montgomeryI've heard both that they're custom wound by Mr. Duncan himself, and that they're stock off the shelf. There's been some debate about that here. I believe the AII Pros Slash gets these days are not the same as the production stock ones. Having said that, I have a set of production stock quot;off the shelfquot; Alnico II Pros in a Les Paul and they sound GREAT for classic rock and blues! And they have four conductors.

I can nail the sweet child of mine vibe with off the shelf APH-1's in my Agile Les Paul with Jimmy Paige wiring.

The key to the slash tone is British-sounding amp, les paul, alnico 2 buckers. The rest is in the Slash playing approach, the feel, etc.

Nice choice on the slash signature. That has piezo's doesnt it? I'd like to add that to my les paul one day, but I think my les paul is complicated enough with the jimmy paige wiring

is there a new slash sig out?

the one i remember was an epi with slash's snake tatoo on it.

Pretty sweet guitar by the looks of it.

this wasnt there earlier today!

niiice. i like the grain. but couldnt they hide that wire going from the bridge to the cavity somehow?
it has a nice acoustic sound though.

It depends on whether the Alnico II pro's are standard production APH's or, Slashes Duncan custom shop models. I think his Custom Shop models are Single conductor scatter wound. I know for a fact the production APH's are 4 conductor.

I hate to burst anybodies bubble, but Slash does not use the custom shop pickups. He uses the off the shelff AIIpro. If you don't believe me, take Evan Skopp's word for it (I think he'd know). I've posted this before and yet the debate continues. Why?!

I work with a Luthier and he uses a lot of A2's. They come stock ready to split!
