Yeah, you know, if you listen to like Iron Maiden, they have these galloping rythms in their songs, my question is just, how can I learn to play them?
Sorry for the stupid question.. I haven't tried it yet, I just wanted to see if anyone could explain it to me, since I am borrowing 2 Iron Maiden guitarbooks from the library.
A gallop rythm (if played for example on the low E string) is just a down stroke followed by a quick down-up followed by a down -- da dada da. In the case of Iron Maiden, metallica etc... the string is generally palm muted.
hope this helped
You guys can get books from your library like that? holy crap, (then again, i havent been to my public library in years)
Yeah man, I have a book based on Tony Iommi's playing in Black Sabbath, and next is the Iron Maiden books, but I know you can also get Metallica, Slayer, and many others. You can also borrow albums.

Thanks man, you explained it simply so I could understand it easily.
Holy ****, do those books contain full transcriptions too??
damn, i beter check my library.
Well, I haven't looked in them all, but for the most part they are pretty detailed actually.
Damn, I gotta check out my library.

Well it's not always that exact pattern. It could be anything like:
White: Downstroke
Red: Upstroke
da dadada da da da dadadada (from Disposable Heroes)
da dadadada da dadadada da (from the Four Horsemen)
They just sound like a horse galloping
