Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum.

I have a P/J type pickup configuration on my bass and am wondering what the best setup for this is. I currently have a Hot for P Bass in one of my cheaper basses that I'm going to pull out and install in this bass.

Which J pickup would go best with this one? I think I want a Hot Stack because I love the sounds they make but will there be a big mismatch in output between these two?

I probably want to wire these up with one master volume and one master tone, and a 3 way pickup selector switch for P/both/J, which is primarily why I want to know whether one will overpower the other and make the both position useless.

Any opinions on the best way to set this up?

Thanks!

bump...Anybody?

I have a Hot for P and a Hot Stack for Jazz bridge in one of my basses, and it sounds pretty good. I haven't noticed a huge output mismatch, however I primarily use the jazz bass pup to add a bit of smoothness to the p bass pup. Overall, when both are used together, they balance well, and sound good.

Awesome, thanks!

i really like the hot stack jazz pup, ive put them in a few basses, usually with a qp p bass pup which has plenty of output and they balance fine
