I'm in the process of converting my HSS Genny over to a more conventional Tele configuration, (with a JD and an AII Pro), so my C5 and QP's were sitting on the shelf. Since my Patriot has been without a bridge pup for quite some time, I decided to pop it in there for the time being, not sure what to expect.
I'm amazed by how balanced these two are. The output level of the two is perfectly matched. But more than that, they sound almost identical. Not exactly the same, but so close, that the only difference is the normal difference that comes from the neck or bridge position. The DD rolls off a tad high-end, but you'ld expect that from the neck position. They sound great toether when both are on, and since I have a quot;splittingquot; switch for the DD, they sound fantastic with the DD split. It just adds a touch of quot;airquot; and openness to the C5.
Anyway, I'm going to play with this some more, and I'll try to post some clips later on. Anyone else ever try this combo?

That sounds like an interesting combo.....one that I can't imagine alot of people having tried either.

Yup, the DD neck is VERY underated!!! Its a great pickup thats over looked by most!
cool artie ... sounds great!!
It still seems to maintain that quot;country twangquot;. I swear . . . the C5 is a quot;countryquot; pickup.
