Hey guys, well i posted this over at guitar.com, but i thought id show it to you guys as well, just cuz this board kicks ass as well!!!!

haha, well i found a video on my hardrive, that i made a while back, well (summer 2004)its kinda funny, its absolutely ridiculoous...haha, it has no musical direction at all....i had just got the camera and i had never seen myself play, so i had to see what it looked like when i was shredding

but it is nice to know know....that i dont sound like that anymore haha, i watch this video and cant believe how much my playing has improved just in the past 6 months or so ...hey i was 19 when i made the video so cut me a break haha(at the time i made the video i was heavily into Zakk Wylde, now ive really got into Steve Vai...which has had a very positive impact on my playing)

so hope you enjoy....remember its just random shred....but i thought id share it with the board....haha oh ya and nevermind me at the end saying quot;thats itquot; just like you, i want to punch myself in the face hahahaha from : localhost/homepage.ntlworld.com/nicknasty/11.mov

Haha, I'll bear in mind that if I ever meet you I'll owe you a smack

Nice technique man, you can tell the Zakk influence in the vibrato - obviously if this is 6 months old it's not gonna be representative of what you play now but it's cool none the less.

way to rip the fretboard apart... nice playing

/\

haha thanks a lot guys!!!!!

i really appreciate your time

Someone has been learning his Zakk Wylde Guitar World columns!

Very impressive!
I notice that you play in 2-3 string sections - there was nothing going through all 6 strings.
Still -- great job! I would love to hear that in the context of a song, tho!

haha, ya Zakk was my idol for the longest time growing up, but the last couple of years or so ive got less and less interested in Zakks playing, and found other guitaristsmy favourites for the last couple of years has been Alexi Laiho and Steve Vai, hopefully within the next couple years i'll improve a lot more, by studying more quot;virtuosoquot; type guitar playersya about the 2-3 string sequences your tottally right, when i made this video, i was just starting to master that kinda stuff, 6 or 7 months later now, and i can do a hell of a lot better than whats on that video, i guess i'll just have to prove it next time haha

thanks for the comments man

file is too big dude

15 mb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
/\

ya i know man, sorry its a pain in the ass, its a .mov file and theres nothing i can do abot it

thanks for trying anyway hehe

Uh, yeah. That's total Zakk right there, very cool. I wish I could get my two hands to coordinate like that. What kind of guitar is that, a Godin?

ya its a Godin, id never go to any other guitar i dont think....i go to guitar stores and try other guitars....but i always end up pulling off a godin off the shelf to play around with ( the neck is just so damn nice and comfortable)

sadly though i took out all the synth access the guitar used to have its an LGX SA but basically now its just an LGX with EMG 81 and 85s.....ya i butchered it haha

That's the main reason I want a Godin; I don't like Brian Moore guitars, and my Roland Ready Strat plays like butt!

All i can say is Godins are a beuatifully canadian made guitar

Just made a not so myself to watch this when i get home from my grandma's house (she has dial up)

Doesn't work for me...

try the link out now

k the link is up and working nowenjoy guys

Holy christ dude, that is some serious shredding in the Zakk Wylde vein! very cool!

The one thing that amazes me is how you picked every note, and you could tell, so much definition! Any tips? That would prove to help my playing a bit, and I'm hugely influenced by Alexi, Mike Amott, and Chris Amott, so my playing is a bit more melodic than shred so to speak.

Do you remember what amp you used?

Nice job man. I especially liked those blues licks you incorporated, they were just awesome.

ha ya funny enough i used my

Marshall
1960 (4 x 12) cabJCM 800 100 was well as the Boss Super Overdrive pedal

basically the zakk wylde setup

as for tips man, i used to use a metronome A LOT thats really all i can say

thanks for all the comments, cuz its wankery garbage on the video haha

cool man!
very fast....
pentatonic scale
you look handsome :P
