Hi there, I've just bought a new Ibanez sz320mh, it has these pickups on, I've read specs (magnet type, dc res.) But can anyone enlighten me as to if these are based on a regular 'Duncan model? Specs seem close(ish) to a DD/'59.
They do sound very good for 'stock' pickups on a cheap guitar. I am thinking of replacing though 'cos they're a touch too hot. Was thinking of Bare knuckles (I live in the UK), or 'Duncan customV/'59, or dimarzio airzone/air norton. Any thoughts, thanks.
Hi LIFESON#1FAN,
They're modeled after the Distortion (bridge) amp; 59 (neck) models.
There's been a few threads about these pickups, you can use the search function to find them.
welcome lifeson#1fan ... if they are a touch too hot, maybe just lower them a half turn or so and see if they get a bit more to your liking ... of course, you could roll the volume down to 8 as well
good luck

Most agree that they are pretty good for stock pickups also, if you give more info on the music you play/equipment you use/tone you want the guys here can point you in the right direction for replacement pickups.
How do they compare to say the Duncan Designed HB103B HB102N DD/Jazz models?
